Hi friends,
I got some news to share with you, today I spoke to my consultant who informed me that in may 2013, 12 people were called for the interview who used the services Y-Axis, out of 12, 6 were lucky to clear the interview and were given CSQ, 3 were kept on hold and rest were rejected because of French. The interviews are happening in French and 90% of the questions asked are in the interview are in French. Guys now since we have jumped in this and invested time and money, I think we will have to prepare for the worst scenarios.

Please friends I do not want to demotivate anyone however I thought this could be of help so thought of sharing this on the forum.

Ya that's right ...it all depends on different case if you claim points for French and even though u have submitted your standardised test results ,you need to show how proficient as per the points claimed. If you don't claim points for French they give you a chance to choose which language they want to proceed for the interview. This has happened to a friend of mine...So guys don't lose your hope...nor give up...
Gud luck...

my interview was 100% in French Quebecois :D, if you can watch French TV5 Monde they put everyday Canaidan French movies and about quebec,
so you can get used to the accent, also subtitles in French so you can read what you cant understand.

I landed long time ago. Please see my timeline.

If I had certified copies, I would not be asking this question :D

According to MICC website, if you submit originals, they will return it. However, since you already landed, might as well call them first or just go straight to their office to inquire and you'll have the answers to your question right away ;)

I do not have copies and I do not have time and money to fly to all countries where I studied to certify copies. I am going in person and I was told by another candidate that they will copy my diplomas and return immediately.
So I repeat my question - has anybody gone in person to the MICC to submit evaluation comparative and if yes, have you received diplomas on the spot, please?

Ketevan,

I think you should PM some landed applicants/immigrants and ask them these things. 90% of people on this thread are not in Quebec yet.

try egrace, shahi, wingsofmaybe (the thread starter) i'm sure they still come around here. Better still call MICC.

Ketevan,

What if you contact the embassy/consulate of those countries where you studied in Quebec. They should provide all foreign document's certification.

Need assistance please

My friend has done BBA from Mumbai University (3 years degree after 12). I assume under the new rules, he can claim 6 points for education and 12 points (C018 - Business Management). Hope I am right. Experts please guide

Hi Faultyjack99,

I've just sent my application for QSW. I do not have any knowledge of French. I am doing an online course from Rosetta Stone and I plan to join a local class here to be more proficient with French. However, my consultant confirmed that the interview will be partial french and partial english. But you confirmed its 90% french.. :o... We were told that we are good to go with 60 points with us without french... but if we are able to manage with french level 1 as well then there are good chances to get our interview waived off??? Please suggest!

If you can provide the link for watching french movies, that would be great.
Thanks.

Even if one is honest and shows their French proficiency as low in the application, that does not mean they automatically qualify because of the points. My proficiency was barely A1 during the interview, and it was made pretty obvious within the first 5 mins, that they were expecting higher proficiency for at-least the principal applicant. That's the primary reason I had to give TCFQ. So, my 2 cents of advice: become comfortable in French, and bring along as many certificates as possible that are related to French for the interview.

I suggest do you tcf, to insure your points and practice the questions, and the interview will go so smooth as if your fluent ;) its so simple, interviewer has no time to chat with you, just requesting your documents, exactly as application order .

Dear All,

To be exact, this is what the official guide for QSW application processing contains:

Requirements for the selection stage

To be selected, candidates must meet the threshold of transition to stage selection. The passing scores that apply at this stage are following:

- 55 points for a single applicant;
- 63 points for an applicant with his spouse or partner.

Remarks:

- If the candidate demonstrates language skills in French with the support of his application for immigration, the result of a test assessment issued by the Ministry Recognized organizations (SEE SECTION 3.3.4.1.), The immigration officer may ensure the validity of the results using the validation means at its disposal by issuers.

- The candidate who claimed he has skills in French allowing it to be selected to record but does not seal parts proving their language skills will be invited to take a test standardized demonstrating the level stated.

- To do this, a letter (PERM 115b) is sent to the candidate, the stage preliminary examination, inviting them to spend a French test. A new code (151) is provided for this purpose in the "Status" of SEPTE.

- All factors of the grid are taken into account at this stage.

So I also think this means that at the interview they can not assess language skills, only either validate official test results, or ask for taking such a standard test, and submit the result (in case it was not submitted with the application already).
