Hey guys

Obviously a newbie here, but been reading posts since last couple days as I am preparing everything to hopefully submit my application by 1st week of July. I have a question...I am a registered nurse in Philippines but didn't have any work experience as a nurse. 1. How true that the Related Learning Experience can be counted as work experience? 2. Few months after I passed the board exam, I went to UK and studied Level 3 Diploma in in Health and Social Care...Will i gain points for the 2 yrs work experience i had in England as Health Care Assistant? Replies will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

No need to contact them until AFTER the baby is born.

Hello grande_follie,

Thank you for sharing this link, I can see it's an official link from the government of Quebec. It calls my attention that according to this document to get maximum points in English a person must score at least 6.5 in Listening and 6.5 in Speaking.

However according to this official link http://www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca/dynamicSearch/telecharge.php?type=7&file=GPI-3-1.pdf (please see page 40)
to get maximum points in English a person must score at least 7.5 in Listening and 6.5 in Speaking.

Which one is correct??!

If you applied your case before 6th December-2011 then you need 6.5 band in listening to get full points in listening part i.e 3 points. If you applied after this date then you need 8 band in listening. that's what it mentioned in this link that i posted here.

@islandbabe yeahhhhh I found a neighbour mehn , that's so cool.

Hi.

Normally the high commision will send you request letter for clearing / attending the medical test which is normally a hospital nearby to your place. You get time of 3 months to attend this test from the date of request. They have tieups like appolo hosp in ahmedabad for gujarat region. Once yiu attend the tests, the hospital will directly send the reports to the high comm. This report has a validity of 1 year. Once this OK report is sent to the comm by hosp, visa stamping is done.

From the time of receiving the request to visa stamping it could take 4-6 months.

Thanks Rizwan, I live in US, I'm not sure if you are talking about a specific country here or the general process?

Hi friends,
Can some one tell me how long does it takes for Montreal office to send the AOR, and do they only send physical copy or email or both?
Waiting
:-\

I got both, first email and in a couple of days a regular mail.

You may check the timelines on my profile. I think it took 5-6 weeks.

Congragulations! Contact the BIQ after the child is born. there's no need for them to know anything at this point. Take care!

Hi Friends,

I want to ask some advise from all the experience people here. We applied for QSW last August 23, 2012 until recently we received a letter from BIQ Montreal Asia ( application was transfered from BIQ HK to Montreal and we find out only recently ). The letter mention that they started reviewing our application until they find out that our bankdraft was already expired. Below is the letter that was translated to english from french.

Madam,

We have started the analysis of your application for a Quebec Selection Certificate. However, we have notices that the payment of your application is incomplete of could not be successfully processed, for the following reason:

-The bank draft that you have submitted had expired. Threrefore, you have to submit a new payment by credit card or bank draft.

The payment has to be processed by credit card, bank draft, certified cheque, made payable to the Ministre des Finances du Québec, drawn on a Canadian bank without fees for our services. The fees are not refundable, neither deductible from the Canadian Visa Office.

To make the payment by credit card, print and return this form Payment by credit card ( A – 0591 – FO) duly completed and signed. This form can be found at the following address:

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/forms/search-title/credit-card.html

You have to provide your payment within 90 following the sending of this letter, to the indicated address at the bottom of this page. If you do not provide the payment within this time frame, this present letter will represent a rejection decision on your application and this, without further notice, as stated in the Quebec Immigration Law.

Please join this letter to your payment.

Regards,

Attached document: Bank draft

The question is this:
1. I just want to know if we way back the fee do you think we can received AOR straightaway?
2. Can we refund the bankdarft that was expired from the bank?

Hi Reg,

Same thing happened to me. I started my application on 12 Sept 2012 from BIQ HK but later discovered that the file had transfered to BIQ Montreal as HK is no longer accepting applications from India.

The letter that I received had exactly the same content as you have mentioned. So I went to the bank from which I made the International DD and encashed the amount. I also made a new DD from the same bank and send it to BIQ Montreal along with letter and the annexure they send me.

Not sure that the AOR will be send straightaway as I am still waiting for their response. But it surely means that your file has definitely opened and awaiting your payment.

This article seems to be quite old (May 26, 2011). The situation might have improved by now. Does anyone throw some light on this ?
