For anybody wanting to immigrate to Canada through Quebec Skilled Worker program, I invite you to look into and take advantage of a Working Holiday Visa program, which is another (faster) way to become a permanent resident :)

welcome back on board......glad to see u again

Hi! I'm a new will-be applicant. I'm from the Philippines. I was planning to send my application this March. Is it true that the French exam is now a pre-requisite? :( That I have to take it before lodging my papers? :( And I have a 1st cousin, a PR, in Montreal. How can I include him as a relative? And how many points would a cousin count? Thanks.

Hi,
I'm from the philippines too. If u want to claim points for french then you have to submit a french exam. If not, u can still submit the application as long as u meet the required points. Then, u can study french while waiting for the interview. I submitted mine together with the french exam because it thought it was a prerequisite. I've learned later on that u can still submit even without the french exam as long as u meet the points. I suggest you submit before the end of this month to montreal as regulations may change. Processing times are longer. I submitted mine aug 2012 but no csq yet. Sad.

thats quite impressing :o

Congrats for getting such a good score !
Good luck buddy ! :)

They won't give you any points for a cousin, only parents, grandparents, children and siblings are taken into account.

I have been living and working in France for 5 years, but it is mostly in English.

I watch films in English with French subtitles and French films with English subtitles. I also participate in French language forums and try to stay away from other English speakers when not working.

I also have a French pârtner so I speak French with him all the time and get corrected.

I tried classroom learning but it is not the same as actually speaking with French speakers face to face as so to say.

I was surprised even so to have got the scores this high I was thinking more like B1 and B2, never in my dreams did I think I would get C1 never mind a C2.

@ MKSHAH and HARIT79

Thanks alot for your valuable help guys but after talking to one of the immigration agent yesterday I came to conclusion that a person Who already has CSQ but not PR can either go for part time french courses or online french courses and there is no financial aid for these two unless you have a small kid , You will get child allowance at the rate of $7/hr ..................One can enroll to full time french course only once he/she will have both PR as well as CSQ, anyways I have decided to go for part time french course now let's see what happens next. Anyways thanx alot guys for your help.

Thank You!!!
