I have a question for all members. How much time it took you to learn French before you were able to score at least A-1 on TCFQ test. I started to learn French recently (about 3 months ago) and I am thinking to take TCFQ test next months to see if I can at least score 1or 2 points. Any suggestions? Thank you.signalmaker said:

You can score A1 easily in TCFQ giving that you started learning 3 months ago... i think, with a little extra effort, you may score A2. try to submit you application before 31 March cuz rules might change afterwards... Good Luck!

Its totally depend upon you,but i think if you have already CSQ by that time then without wasting money it should be better to take advance French classes from Quebec as its free. That's my suggestion.

Approximately how many months does the federal processing take after CSQ is granted? My BIQ is Montreal.

it was not a full time study. i am working full time now and could spear only 1-2 hours a day to read some stuff and listen to Micheal Thomas CDs (which are brilliant!)...
I took a couple of classes to recall my school knowledge (French was a second language in my school).
but any ways... TCFQ is really easy... you can get A1 in listening if you just answer 4-5 questions out of 40. you can get A1 in speaking if you could understand and answer the first 1-2 questions out of 6...

I don't know why people want to go to Quebec with A1 or A2 level, Even B1 level is not sufficient to communicate well with Quebec people. People are so crazy. Quebec govt. has started looking for that people who take Quebec immigration as a back door to enter Canada.
I wish Quebec will take some steps to kick out those people who take this as a back door to enter Canada. I am sure People will get blast news in March.

A1 and A2 are not enough to live and work in a Francophone province/country; however living in a city like Montreal where English is spoken more or less, makes the transition to French more easy. Many people will not agree and even though I hate to admit it, you are right on your statement. It is our responsibility as potential Quebec immigrants to make sure we have a competent level of French.
