Hi seniors,

Please help!

Need to show my source of fund (in bank statement) while application filing for CSQ? or later?

You can show it at the time of interview.

@javeedislam
Thank you so much for your reply. I believe it takes more than 6 month for interview after filing right?

Depending on your BIQ and priority if you are in priority list then it may take 6 months otherwise there are people waiting for more then 1.5 years.

Does anyone have a similar experience. I'd like to hear some opinions.

hi jazv4,

I am still at the early stages of my application but from what i believe, there doesn't seem to be a problem if you're going to submit from your home country or at at the visa office of the country you're working at. When i was in the US on work visa my agency back in the Philippines was contemplating on submitting my documents from the Philippines. Some posts I've read indicated that some applicants applied on the countries they were working at. So I don't think this is a big issue, for as long as you are able to show in the documentation that you are on that particular country legally.

In Quebec's immigration website (ww.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/forms/search-title/dcs-workers/procedure.html) it states:

"Send all of the documents to the office serving the country where you legally reside."

I am legal to reside in both my home country and in the country where I have a work visa, so I guess I can choose where to apply. I guess at this point, it would be wise to just research where there's less number of applicants --- in your home country or in the country you're working at. Just my opinion. Seniors, what do you think?

Bonne chance!

Hi raistlin,

Just wondering if you don't mind, you have said you are a Registered Nurse in the US, is life getting harder in the US? I mean the cost of living, finding jobs, etc? Thanks.

Linni

Hi Linni,

Are you a nurse, too? The availability of nursing jobs depend on what state you are at. Some states are more hard-hit by the economic depression so you would see healthcare facilities laying off nurses, whereas in other states large sign in bonuses are being offered just to get somebody to apply. I have heard comments from long time residents that the US is getting worse because even US citizens are having a very hard time getting work. I think finding work in the US in general is hard, but there are states that have booming industries like in North Dakota where more work are available especially for oil drilling. If you have booming industries like this, they are not only looking for engineers, drillers, etc., but they are also looking for healthcare workers, restaurant workers...etc... whatever you need to have a thriving community. In some states like Nevada, lay offs are being done left and right because Nevada's main business is Tourism, which has been on the decline since the start of the depression. So I think you have to look at it in a per state basis. The same is true with regards to cost of living. I think the cost of living has generally gotten higher in the whole US, but I believe that if you have a full-time work (40 hours) you would still be able to survive but of course, not comfortably. Hope this helps.

:) Raistlin

I got my CSQ last year in sept, but I did not apply to federal earlier because of some reasons. Regarding federal application, my application was received on 22 june 2012. The credit card was charged on 23 july, received AOR on 26 july 2012, received medical request on 31 july. I am doing PhD in Engineering. I applied for me and my wife.
