Hi everyone

I wanted to know is there a way through which quebec government assess the educational qualifications for awarding points. I heard that there is a process through which the applicant needs to send his original educational certificates to the assessing authorities by courier. The authorities will then revert back to you.

If this is true and if someone has followed this process, I need to know:

-What are the charges?
-How much time it takes?
-Where am I supposed to send those certificates?

Please reply if anyone knows about this...??

niravk, do you mean this stuff?

If some consultant told you about this service, then the charges will only fill the consultant's pocket with money.

dear seniors and forum members,
I need ur advice for this.
I have read somewhere that after getting PR, applicant can return to his home country immediately after his landing.
Is that correct info?
In that case where will the PR card be delivered?
And suppose, some one stays in quebec till he gets PR card and returns to his home country, is this allowed?
Also, after going to home country, within how much time he need to return to canada?

Hi mkshah, I read that if you leave Canada without getting your PR card, then you will need to reapply for entry visa. But once you have your PR card, you can come and go as you like but I think you must stay in Canada and average of 6 months or so in a year to maintain your PR status.

hi Raj,
If u r applying after 6th dec 2011, then u must attach ur language test results with application for csq. This is what website says. They have not mention about whether they will accept the test result of higher level at a later stage.
But what I think is that, this change is done by MICC to reduce the increased number of applications for qsw mainly due to cap of 500 and less number of occupation in FSW.
So, by this way now only those candidates can send their applications who are ready with result of french/english tests or those who are reaching to threshold without this language points.
also, they have never mentioned this, that applicant cannot update his french language results as later stage. In fact they advice applicants to keep them updated about any change in status during the entire period of processing. So I think you can surely send results of higher level of french language to get more points after sending initial application. Just that if u want to claim points for language proficiency, you must include result of language tests with your application for selection certificate.

And surely I can leave canada, immediately after completing landing formalities too.But once you have your PR card, you can come and go as you like yes, that I am aware about :), but for how much duration It is mandatory to stay in slab of 4 years to maintain PR status.but I think you must stay in Canada and average of 6 months or so in a year to maintain your PR status.

Hi mkshah,

Master degree in Mechanical Engineering will be eligible for 6 points in AOT, if the master degree is completed within 5 years, but work experience in IT, not in mechanical. In the AOT PDF file, what is the meaning of Bachelor degree, master degree is also eligible?

Thanks

So you will not get this 6 points. but surely you will get points of education corresponding to education of Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. but if you have got your degree in last 5 years, so surely you can get points for AOT as well as points for education. In the AOT PDF file, what is the meaning of Bachelor degree, master degree is also eligible? yes
Thanks
