@ Angel...bro on the quebec website/hong kong e-mial is given for any query...and i asked them without quoting my case no. that when the interviews in India are scheduled..they said END of THE YEAR..

@ Eddie..Send your TEF result..also try to pass DELF exams..they r cheaper..and are recognised by Quebec..ask Alliance Francaise in your country..Also attach proof of French courses you have attended....Apply..n improve french, pass DELF exams...you will do fine ..trust me..

@ Canadien....Get a letter on an official letter head from your college or univ dept..saying all the courses are taught in English...i still recommend give GENERAL IELTS and send it..that would make your points certain.

Shahi

go through this link ........n read wt de say abt language proof...at no mentioned bellow

11. Proficiency in French or English

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/biq/hong-kong/dcs-workers/list-documents.html

hi eddie, my best suggestion is to call them to discuss your file - i.e. call the visa office and ask for more time.

as a last resort, if your french classes did not concentrate on speaking and listening, then you can submit current result with explanation letter (enclosing proof of DELF or other exam registeration).

Bonjour canadien85

I have read that but I need some more detailed clarification.....you told me you are also confused regarding the same!!!!
We have to provide some documents to prove at the time of sending the application

Thanks

@ vicky: yes frd, im learning on my own but my speed is quite slow :( im trying to boost it up.

@ immica: i mentioned NO proficiency in french while submitting my application, and i have the same problem as yours i.e im unable to attend AF classes due to time constraints. well what i think is that since you have not given any recognized test, you should not mark anything, others may advice better.

@ shahi: i sent a case specific inquiry to hong kong on Friday, yesterday they replied that my file is awaiting processing and that i will receive a letter from them once a decision is made.

Vicky

Just wait for now... i dont know what your level of french is...if its good then go for TEF...else wait..let them c what they ask from u!!

Senu

U can apply with just a letter of enrollment of french course..ofcourse during your file processing u need to take French exam tests like DELF or TEF..and update your embassy regularly..

Angel

Bro dont worry...u ll get a letter soon abt further processing

Shahi,

can you get away without taking french exams? i got a c4 in highschool french and enclosed this. i live in a bilingual city and also enclosed test result from my university putting me in the grade C range.

1.) Can they waive french, if so under what curcumstances.
2.) If not, DELF & TeFaQ, which is both easier and cheaper?

Thanks for your help!

Yes Immica i guess you are right me and Angeleye we both had submitted our application for QSW , but the difference is Angel has got his AOR but mine is on its way..hopefully i will be getting my AOR in a day or two..please pray for me.. ???

As far as french language is concerned angel has got his AOR without mentioning French language and i have enclosed my Enrollment certification of AF along with my application..You are also right if you are doing job than its difficult to get regular classes at any french teaching institute but i think taking french classes is much fruitful rather doing on ur own..
i hope @angeleye agrees with me on this point...

@NARMEEN i think the stage ur on u dnt need to be bother abt ur Passport wether they keep it with them for a week or for a month, ultimately in the end you will be seeing Maple leaf on ur Passport...so dont bother abt it anymore keep ur fingers Cross and pray for urself and for every1 on the forum..

Bonne Chance!

chikbiks.. that tottally depends on the reviewing officer..let us see what happens..

Hi eddie & other french learners,

i dont normally like to recommend programs on forums; but i felt i should in the interest of furthering the french language in line with Quebec values, our adopted province!

often times we do attend classes etc and learn grammar etc but cant actually SPEAK. i believe learning a language needs a systematic & proven approach; after 6 years of high school french, i still could not hold even a simple conversation.

These programs are what i use and they are effective especially the first; the great thing is you can get it free if its available in your local library.

FRENCH IN ACTION - CAPRETZ METHOD - it has video, audio, workbooks etc. this program was developed at Yale in the 1980s - its no magic program though - still requires time and effort.
