Hello everyone.

My name is Lenny and I am totally new on the forum. I am a QSW candidate and just sent my application on Saturday 16 jul 2011. According to DHL it was delivered to the BIQ in Mexico City on Mon 18 jul 2011 and signed for by a staff member called "Marcos Solis".

I know I have a very long wait ahead. I have been reading in different forums that the average time to get the CSQ from the BIQ in Mexico is 6 months but I am getting concerned that processing times in this office seem to have become slow.

It took me many months to gather all the necessary documents and I can strongly affirm that my application is absolutely complete (almost immaculate) according to what they require: signed forms, work certificates, academic diplomas and transcripts, language tests with high scores in both French (TEFaQ and DELF B2) and English (IELTS), etc, and even documents of relatives living in Québec. I hope I can be waived from the interview and get my CSQ in less than 6 months.

I will share this adventure with you guys until I finally get my visa. I will be patient.

Cheers,
Lenny
pls adive what all documents , we need to gather?
iam really planning to apply.

i have not done french. i want join for french class. what i need to attach?

If I and my spouse claim 2 for each in French and complete 6 months French course [Weekly 8 hour and Weekly 4 Hours] from AF will it be awarded in our favor??

I have heard that if some once point exceeded 63, he need not to face interview-- is it true??

c. Age - 3
d. French - 1/2 Please read page 34 to 38 of the quebec immigration guide to understand how you can claim points for french. This is the link to the document; http://www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca/dynamicSearch/telecharge.php?type=7&file=GPI-3-1.pdf
7. Validated Job Offer - 0
8. Children – 8
9. Financial Self Sufficiency – ???? - this is the signature of engagement, every one is awarded 1 point here

Total -- 61/63.

How much point required to get QSC?? See below

Employability Cut-off – sum of all factors except factors 8,9 and 10
i. Single (42)
ii. Married (50)
b. Cut-off for preliminary review – sum of all the factors except factor 10
i. Single (49)
ii. Married (57)
c. Selection - sum of all factors
i. Single (55)
ii. Married (63)

How many point in "Financial Self Sufficiency". 1 point How can I claim this?? simply fill and sign the financial self sufficiency form

If I and my spouse claim 2 for each in French and complete 6 months French course [Weekly 8 hour and Weekly 4 Hours] from AF will it be awarded in our favor?? It is not about studying french but it is all about being able to speak it at the end of the day. Your french study will not be used as a conclusive proof of your french level. You can either sit for a recognised french test or wait for your french level to be tested at the interview.

I have heard that if some once point exceeded 63, he need not to face interview-- is it true?? Well, 63 is the pass mark for selection but invitation for interview is strictly at the discretion of the BIQ officer's. They may decide to invite you over to be able to sight the original copies of your credentials and also test your french level. You simply do not have power over this.

Good luck.

Please don't send your IELTS result if you wish to send letter from Uni and Employer else the whole purpose of trying to claim 6 points for English language will be defeated as they may end up using your IELTS result.

I noticed that French version of this website show the minimum points to be 59 and used different points scheme while the English version 55. Is it confirmed to be 55 or it might have been changed with the latest changes after Feb 2011 ?

Minimum points for the different stages remains as stated below;

Employability Cut-off – sum of all factors except factors 8,9 and 10

i. Single (42)
ii. Married (50)

b. Cut-off for preliminary review – sum of all the factors except factor 10
i. Single (49)
ii. Married (57)

c. Selection - sum of all factors
i. Single (55)
ii. Married (63)

@ egrace62
Yes, I expect to communicate in French during interview. But I specified my skills in French to be zero as I'll be depending on officer assessment for my French skills and don't have TEF. I could evaluate my French to be intermediate but I don't want to calculate French points as it is variant and based on officer point of view, so I assume it is zero to see my possible chances. Your french level will be tested at the interview then.

I expect my points to be at 49 or 54 (need to be validated) without Adaptability and French skills factors as I have a permanent offer ( It is validated as well as I already work according to my call to Quebec government ). In addition, I began in the process for moving to Montreal (CAQ).

Thanks a lot for your help.

Dear DONSOFT,

I have done my evaluation as follow:

1. Training
a. Educational Attainment – 12
b. Area of Training – 6
* Question, does my MSc and PhD degree from Canada count as equivalent to Quebec Diploma (6 points factor) ?
2. Experience - 8
3. Age - 16
4. Language
a. English - 6
b. French - 1/2
5. Family and Stay in Quebec - 0
6. Spouse's Characteristics - 0
7. Validated Job Offer - 6 ( Montreal )
8. Children – 0
9. Financial Self Sufficiency – 1

Total 55~57 without Adaptability points.

I'm not sure if I have calculated it properly or missed something. I really appreciate your help.

Thanks...
