IELTS Request
Sent with the file: 4 points. TCFQ: sent with the file: B1 - 8 points
1- I have been reading about Canada and Quebec since 2004-2005....I was still a student and nothing was serious...
2- in the beginning of 2011, i had 3 years of experience in my field of study, married with one kid and ready to get the required point presuming i have intermediate French and advanced English (test was not required in those days)... So i was hoping to file the application and sit for the language exams afterwards...
3- 10 Dec 2011 my file was ready after 10s of hours of reading rules, translating my degrees and my wife's, etc... and just before i print and submit the applications, the new rules came out asking to submit french and english test with your file, otherwise you won't get points (and will not reach the threshold) and hence we will return your file...
4- So i decided to study hard and sit for exams before sending the file... i sent my file in Aug 2012 after clearing B1 in TCFQ... i worked so hard and spent good money and time on courses and books to refresh my school french knowledge...
5-In Oct 2012.... i was the happiest man on earth to receive AOR knowing that they won't send it unless they found that my AOT and my certificates (language and University) were accredited.... and I was rest assured that any new changes in the rules will not affect me knowing that the very basic rule in laws is that: any new rule should not be retroactive unless it's for the benefit of the case owner...
6- in Aug 2013 .... the dudes in the MICC added the below in their FAQ page... and ruined everything... they will now simply reject my application when my turn comes....

Immigration Rules and Procedures in effect since August 1, 2013

1. I submitted an immigration application under the Regular Skilled Worker Program. How do I know if the new measures apply to me?

The new measures apply to you if, by August 1, 2013, you received one of the following documents from the Ministère:

an acknowledgement confirming that your file has been opened and the fees received;
an acknowledgement as well as a letter asking you to provide missing documents or conforming documents in order to process your application.

don't lose hope, you can continue in french to get B2 in one of language skills, its not impossible to reach B2 especially you already have B1 level

Don't lose hope, you're so close to B2. Study more, if you can. If 2 points is all you need in order to get to the preliminary passmark, they mentioned that they will give you time to present a language test result. Also, you might try updating you and your wife's years of work experience (you might be able to add additional points by now) and maybe even your IELTS, if you can get higher scores. Don't just give up because you're so close. Your turn hasn't come yet, so maybe you can still do something to improve your points ;)

Dear frd,

Many thanks for your response really i appreciated so much ,

but let me ask one question please .... what is ur exceptation towarding my file , especially as i mentioned above i already sent my file for the second time with my refrence number on june and unfortunately i didnot receive any response from qeubec ?????

if as u mentioned above i will be under the new rules , is there any announce for the period of time that they will give to me for trying obtain B2 ?

Thanks in advance .
In my opinion, once they receive your additional documents, they will now try to encash your demand draft or your credit card, if they have not yet done so. If those turn out alright and they are able to get the money, they will send you a receipt attesting to the receipt of the fees. Then they will open your file and send you another letter attesting to the opening of the file in which you will find your file number already. They might just send the receipt of the fees and the letter attesting to the opening of the file at the same time, or they may do it one after the other. It will take time.

As for attaining B2, no, I don't think I've seen anything online stating how long they will give us in order to get the B2.

Raistlin, did you mean that the 20,000 quota will only include those who lodged their applications after August 1? ::)

"Applications received before August 1, 2013 will not be counted within the maximum number of applications established by the Ministère for the period between August 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014."

The cap will only apply on those applications that arrived (and were stamped) starting August 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. That's how I understand the quotation above.

IS there anyone in this forum , applied in 2012/2013 who received their Interview letter or any other communication on wait listing? I have been watching this thread and all others related to Quebec immigration, hardly find any info on such notifications. Is this the rate at which the response are received ? Or is there any chance like people who had received updates are not active in the forums at all ?

Hello to all,
I am new member to this forum.I would like to apply for CSQ but not sure whether our educational credentials are accepted.My spouse has 10+3 education in nursing having more than 8 yrs of experience directly related to diploma.While going through the preliminary evaluation,it states different response,firstly it says 13 yrs. of full time post secondary technical diploma is equivalent to DCS on education column and secondly, 14 yrs of full time post secondary technical diploma is marked on AOT.I am highly confused here.If anybody have same status of educational background,Plz. clarify

you mean he/she is 35 until turns 36 even his/her age is 35 years and 11 months?
Logically you are at 35 even one day before your 36th birthday.. Age is always considered as integer figure and it cannot be rounded off to next integer..

In the Selection procedure they mentioned that "An acknowledgment of receipt is sent to you to confirm receipt of your application and, where applicable, to indicate that your application will be prioritized for processing." which means there are some applications that will be treated with priority, However in another section they have defined the priority as

applications from candidates submitted under the Programme de l’expérience québécoise (Québec experience program);
applications from candidates who submit a valid employment offer;
applications from candidates who obtain points under the factor Area of training;
any other application submitted by permanent workers.

Does it means the information of priority be present in the AOR, for applications in 1 and 2 above or 1 2 and 3 above ? I thought I will be in AOT and will fall under category 3, but did not get any info on priority in my AOR however. Any thought on this please do share....

I don't have anything about priority on my AOR neither, but my application is definitely priority (Quebec diploma, 12 points), and it was confirmed when I called MICC.
