Hi Geochaddy,

It is easy to find housing - just watch kijiji.com and phone the numbers to view the flat.
I was working 2 months in call centre but quit because you get almost a minimum wage pay, almost zero respect from clients and constant pressure to make sales. I am going home this sunday and not sure whether I should come back.

I am fully bilingual, hold PhD from UK, yet am rejected even for bank cashier posts. So far I see only two ways - either work in minimum wage service jobs for the rest of life or study from the beginning with no guarantee to get job at the end.

The moral: think twice before quitting your job and boarding your flight 8)
Dear don't lose your confidence....yes, u may work on lower post and on less salary for some months...but u can get good job in 3-4 months...so keep on trying !! :D

Hi All,

Yesterday I got my first acknowledgement by Notre-Dam Montreal office, where they give me file no and confirmation of fees receipt, although this letter was in french and did translate through Google translate.
My visa office is Hong Knog, now can any one guide me about further process. what will happen now?
will they contact me for Interview?
Please guide me.
What is the best way to translate document from French to English.

Thx and Regards

Ken

Re:Again confusion

Dear friends,
I would like to thank you all who contributed time for replying me despite of your busy schedule.I am happy that many confusions has cleared to me by you all.I went to consult my case with one of the consultancy yesterday,I again confused b coz of information, i was provided with.He said that final passing score is 57 not 63 for accompanying spouse under new rules. With confidence,I replied him saying about adaptability factor which may grant 6 points if you are well in interview but he did not believe. In this situation, who is wrong?he or myself?on the other hand,My spouse has a total number of 5years education in nursing(3yrs diploma and 2 yrs post basic bachelor in nursing). In total, she has more than six years of experience in two episodes.Firstly,She worked 5 years after her 3 yrs diploma in nursing.secondly, She studied 2 yrs, bachelor in nursing resigning her initial job. And finally, she re started job after bachelor from the last one year. In this regard, what points is granted for her work experience?

Anticipating your valuable input

Regards

Points for your wife's experience will only count within the last five yrs. ie. experience gained in the 5yrs preceding her application.

57 minimum......then 63 after adaptability points. I.e if you are applying with a spouse.......
you must get 62 points without adaptability, during interview you can grant only 1 point as minimum
work on your languages to gain points

Wow! It's almost scary. My husband has a Phd in Chemistry and I have a Msc in Human Resource Management. We are only now learning french. I expect that when we land in quebec we would have to accept jobs that are below our level of training but would never expect it to be so bad. Do you think you are quitting too soon? Where in quebec are you? Have you tried another area of Quebec? At least as a last resort why not try to apply outside of Quebec? Please keep us posted because we all believe this is a glorious opportunity but we need to hear from persons who are actually there already so that we can have an idea of what we are up against.

Are there any other members of this forum with a better experience that can be shared with us?

Re: Further clarification

Dear friend,
I and my spouse are doing beginner level one in AF here in my country,Nepal. What my understanding was, under the new stream to claim points for language is only possible if one can submit the result of language along with initial application for CSQ.Is it possible to submit result of french language later on to make at least 62 points?
