Well i disagree.

I have three degrees from accredited universities in Europe in economics and evaluation comparative as well (which took one year to be done) and I never got any good job offer in Quebec despite fluency in both official languages. Now I live in Calgary and work in my field finally. And if you want to say that I am just an idiot who cannot write resumes, I can give hundreds of other examples, who graduated with Quebecois master's and work in call centres for minimum wages or as security agents.

In social sciences like business etc. it is next to impossible to find a good job in Quebec because local white canadians with local canadian degrees, and there are hundreds of thousands of them, already oversupplied the job market. Would you recruit some arab with a master's from Germany while you have a white quebecois with fancy quebecois accent, who can go to all these business parties, drink with clients, easily make friends using quebecois sexual jokes about bar strippers we do not even understand? Job success here is not about intelligence but about how easily you can make contact with others and sell your product.

If anyone has a business degree from outside canada, they will either work for minimum wages in call centres or they will have to leave Quebec or they will have to completely retrain (do an attestation d'etudes collegiales en comptabilite or something like that). Yes, there are exceptions probably, but in my two years here I have never heard of them.

And my advice to everybody - do not waste months on applying for jobs if the job does not come up. It is better to start some sort of college diploma (there are 10-month courses and you will get generous government financial support). These normally have internship at the end and more than half interns are retained at work and get permanent position after internship.

Well am happy for you that you are satisfied in calgary!
It depends you know, each person has different story, it is true that the start is hard and it's true that call centers have minimum wage, but you know I don't like to generalize bad experience especially that there are thousands of people waiting their chance to reach montreal especially that they are QSW, in addition I met many new friends in my current work, we work in multinational organization with over 250,000 employees all over the world, our salary is high, our diploma is not from Europe it's from Lebanon, and we are happy, in the end as I told you each person has different story! Quebec gave me life and security, I feel grateful towards montreal and I wish everyone success in their lives!

Hello Everyone,

Though i do understand what katayoon is saying, and yes business majors will have more difficulties than others. But for example in toronto , architects do not face such a problem because now they have bridging programs for architects (even IT & business btw) and you can even get licensed easier if you are registered in the syndicate in your country, it will take in all around 1year and half tops to get licensed.

i think the major hurdle, is how you invent yourself, because yes you need to. You need to be open minded and try to reinvent yourself so you can find a good job in your field and this is not easy, because we are not used to competition.

The site for bridging is JVS Toronto check it out
