Hello csaade, how's the landing so far? and how about your impression?

So far so good.
I've been coming to Canada since 2012 and my wife is canadian. It was a smooth landing and settling down was quick.
The easiest things to be done are applying to the SIN to start working (it also helps in getting a credit card after opening a bank account), getting a health card and driver's license.
What takes more time are the job hunting and finding a house close to your work location.
Of course it all depends on your field. You might have to sacrifice living in Montreal and relocate to another region.
Everything is becoming more and more expensive. Since I have a car, these past couple of weeks were hell in gas prices, it reached 1.38$/L in Ontario and 1.53$/L in Montreal.
It won't be like this for long, I guess until the beginning of the summer.
Constructions are being held everywhere and they're resulting in lots of traffic.
The weather is still getting chilly from time to time, which is not normal for this time of the year. It won't get warm till mid May.

Best of luck to all.

Land where your field is needed, or else you're definitely screwed!!!
The earlier you start your job hunting the better, do it before you leave your home country.
Montreal became overcrowded with Chinese, I'm not sure how you're going to compete with them over a job opportunity.
Ontario and the west(starting from Alberta) are booming with IT jobs.
Toronto is great for finance, but again, it's also overcrowded with Chinese and Filipinos.

I already purchased one way ticket. but I might make only landing. because i see a lot of canadians coming to uae, really ull be socked they are accepting salaries very very low.
the worst they are so happy here, life quality is better in uae and professional services.

90 percent will be only landing

You can work all your life in Dubai but u will never get the passport of UAE. In Dubai 99% of people spend their salaries without any saving.
Even the prices in Dubai are going up,the rental has doubled recently. So what the hell. There is no future in Dubai. Don't think on a short term, think on the long one.
For me I think Canada is way better then UAE.

Habibi Canada is even more secure for the long term.

You pay your taxes, but when you retire you are paid by the government until your last day!

Education is very cheap and high quality.

Medical is for free.

The work experience u get there is recognized worldwide.

If you lose your job, you are paid about 80 percent of your salary for almost a year by which time u will find another job.

It is a booming country with a promising future because its population is very small and it is the second biggest country in the world.

It will be hard when you first go like any other country, but by the time u adapt, things will change for the very better.....

starting next week great news will boom again hopefully.

question for lemans: why are you showing us that you are a bit hesitated to go where else thousands of immigrants are waiting for the golden mail?
