Just a quick query,

Please tell me if French is mandatory for Quebec, as our agency is saying if we have the points and IELTS, French is not mandatory.

Please help!

Regards

French not mandatory so far , but meeting the overall required points are mandatory

liberals are back as majority to the gov in quebec, congrats no more near dreams of separations and conflicts

Rishi, let's say french is not mandatory, do you really think they will give you the CSQ in the interview if you only spoke in english ? they can do many things to reduce your overall points starting with the adaptability points unless you are a hotshot doctor or have some very important major.

personally, i don't know anyone who got a CSQ by not being able to communicate in french. but you can find as much stories as you want on the internet.

anyway it is up to you to believe whatever you choose ;)

good luck
Dear Tareq
there is 2 forms ,one is the main form which asking for each country you live in more than 6 months cince you became 18 years and there is another form asking you to fill all you travels in the last ten years and the period of time you stayed in each country . so you are talking about the main form and they are talking about the second one . I do not think it is a big issue if you forget to mention one country even if they noticed you can simply tell that you forget it.

my workmate had his interview one day after me , he knows nothing French , but he had booster points because his diploma in nursing , and he passed , he even has poor English , I still wonder how he passed :P

if they can get enough points without French language it is all good, but keep in mind that they may not claim every point you calculate , like in my case the officer strictly didn't recognize my work experience even though I showed him the original official work certificates and work contracts but I didn't have certified NSSF papers..

yes they are right but Quebec make it impossible without French right now with minimum b2 in my opinion do not apply if you do not want to study French your chances are very low

Dear tarek
I do not care about the lawyer what he fill there I am talking about what we should all fill . it is mentioned clearly that they need you to mention all your travels even one day trip as long as it is stamped on your passport now if these people you are talking about have passed without any problem it does not mean they are the rule . you can not guarantee that this will happen to all who did not fill and do not tell me that you did not fill this form . I am sure if Canada want to know where have you travel it is very easy for them since all countries now are linked to each other especially now for travel safety . so if Canada felt that you are hiding any info with intention of fraud then they have the right to cancel your application unless your prove the opposite
