This is my theory: Since the passport will be stamped in Beirut, they need a copy of your passport for their records, especially if you have renewed it.
Which means, the pr should be on it's way.

I hope it will be a good sign w nchalla this month the visas start raining in our thread!!

I think that you reach finally to the end of your long journey and after sending you passport copy they will send you an email requesting you to send your original passport for visa stamping so congratulation from now

lets to tell u mabrook coz i would like to tell u something u and all in this forum in order to know what it means,i know someone from one month and a half,they request from her the copy of passport and passport her husband,she sent them this copy,then they sent her the golden email for passport request after 2 weeks,only 2 weeks
i tell u this story mshan ta3rfo sho ma3nha hal kalam ,tab3an hada shi hie alteli eah bil 7aref wa7ed and now she will travel to canada soon
