I would think so, because if you put the current date, they might think that's when you stoped working.

Just write it properly in black ink. Also, you need to put your new file number and name at the top of each form.

hey Guys,

How's everything? I guess no one has any new updates in their applications.

Ottawa's great, weather's not bad. Just came back from Montreal, seen the Backstreet boys with the wife last night. it was like 19,500 girls and 6 guys(the 5 backstreet boys and me) :D
Lemans, go easy on the crimes and whatever. it is not as bad as you think. fi dawli here behind you
as for the winter, you won't feel that cold but the clothes you get from Lebanon or the UAE can't be worn here for sure...

How to update an application

Updates are only accepted in writing, either by mail, email or fax. Please do not send the same update multiple times or by multiple means. This creates confusion and can delay our reply.

this is confusing, I filled everything typed on PDF then I read that notice on a link provided by them, am I now supposed to start all over again in handwritten ? DHL will be at my place in an hour

no problem. I think it says on the forms themselves to type and print them. That way its more legiable and they don't have to guess what people wrote.

makes sense

concerning the security issue, Lebanon is highly insecure and there are a lot of unreported crimes everyday.. even if reported we don't hear about them and most of them are in the crappy areas and the slumps. i am not defending Quebec or anything but don't look at the statistics look on the ground what's happening. when they steal your car in Quebec the police will try to help you, in Lebanon they will advise you to pay the required amount for the thief. in Quebec if a person commits a crime he will go directly to jail and not set free if he belongs to a certain political party.. and so on .. but concerning a mother running over her daughter and similar cases accidents happen everywhere in the world, a father poisoned and kill his children last year in lebanon and he did it intentionally and more worst cases than this one that we might not have heard about it. look what happens between tribes in Bekaa and the murders and the vengeance etc.. no one hears about them..

Anyway, each of us has his/her opinion about Quebec, and everyone has the right to express his/her thoughts and even fears about the unknown but this person should not intentionally demotivate others and convince them in not going especially if this person has already applied and plan to settle in Quebec one day. but as i said everyone have the right and even should express what's on his or her mind so the others might be more aware what they might face in their future country. for me i fear that i won't find a good job similar to my current one.

So if anyone doesn't intend to live in Quebec one day then withdraw your application and continue your life in lebanon or whenever you are... but if you intend to emigrate, then express your thoughts but don't be a source of annoyance to anyone.

Someone on the forum if he likes to comment, he sent mail and requested to withdraw his application, they replied you can not, CIC either will accept you or refuse you ;D

about fear to get job, its not matter, government will support you, you can do your business and take loan. our profession became priority to quebec, you can apply again if you want ;)

about security, i am not afraid at all , once i reach i will buy a gun :D but ill end up in jail hehehe

Guys as i promised , i have finished translating the session, please note thet:

1) this is my own translation from french to english and not official from any website.
2) the numbering of the question is not as they were answered in the session, because i skipped some questions that we are not interested in.

Here we go :

Question 1:
We have applied in the end of June, please tell me if the new rules will apply to us or not ?
Answer:
The most important thing, is the date at which the file was received and stamped.
If it was received before August 1st 2013, then old rules applies. Except for the language issue, even before August 1st, the linguistic requirements are still applicable. That will mean you will not obtain points for levels less than B2.
To make it easy, all applications received after 6 Dec 2011, will apply to new rules.

Question 2 :
How would I know about my file if it has started preliminary examination or not ?
Answer:

The person who makes the pre. Examination is the person who first checks your application for enough points, and make sure all documents are ok.
To know at what stage your file is, contact us ...... using the reference and file number.

Question 3:

I sent my application in 2011, will I apply to new list of formation ?

Answer:
If we received the file before Dec 6th 2011, then old rules that applies prior to this date applies to you.

If we received the file after 2011, but the preliminary examination has not yet begun, then new rules will apply to it.

So, I repeat .....

Question 4:
We have applied in the end of June ... I think I have already replied this question, I will not repeat it again .

Question 5 :

I have already received AOR, will the new rules apply to me ? as by this I will lose some points and the application will returned to me !

Answer: Non .. Non . . ! if you have already received from us AOR, that means we already started the preliminary Examination of your file, So, we will complete studying your file by the rules were in effect by the time we received the file .

Question 6 :

I I have received AOR, would that mean I have enough points?

Non, that does not mean that, AOR means we have received your file, and we have taken the fees, that means we attribute you with an personal identification, that is, an individual Reference Number.

But that doesn't mean we have selected you, no at all !
There must be preliminary examination, and points calculation, in the selection grid, and you will have the results of that by post... ASAP.

Question 7:
How much time I do have , before sending the B2 results ? after having the AOR ?

You cannot send the B2 result, if you didn't send it with the application.

( PS: he meant the Pre. Examination will depend on the info they had at the time the application was sent, but of course after getting AOR, you can send it AS AN UPDATE only )

Question 8:

I have sent my application in July 29th, will I apply to new rules ?
Answer:
Again, I understand there are new rules, so I will say again , the most important thing is the date at which we received the file, and to make it simple; If received between Dec 6th 2011 and before August 1st 2013, new rule will apply , unless if preliminary examination has been made.

Question 9 :

I have sent my app. In 2011, how shall I know if the preliminary examination have started , as I have the level B1 in French ?

If we received it before Dec 6th 2011, then old rules apply, if after this date and preliminary examination has not started yet then new rule will apply, but, anyway, you will b informed if any change will apply to you, ASAP.

Question 10 :
How much does it take to withdraw the money from us after opening the file ?

That shouldn't take much time ! not more weeks for sure.
Because this is the first thing should be done before starting the preliminary examination.

Good luck to all of us.

I have a question for the table! and I'll be very thankful and frankly, very interested in knowing your opinion guys.

making a long story short, after losing the connection with the Canadian embassy in the last two/three years, I decided to travel to Germany to continue my study there... and after being here in Germany for almost seven months, now I might be about to receive the medical form, which can be a little bit of a problem because they don't know that I'm here, so what should I do:

A. go back to my country hopping that if I take the medical test there my trip to Germany without informing the embassy about the address changing won't affect my case. Or
B. I can just take the med exam here and hope that they won't care about the place and they will just go on with the process...

Please be aware that (which is a nightmare for me) the worst scenario can happen is they telling me that: you are studying and working there, you went on with your life, why do you want to immigrate? no sir, we are sorry.

I really love Canada, and being a Canadian is a real dream of mine, I even feel her (Canada) as a part of me =)))). I even wanna have sex with Canada and have little babies and name them after Canadian famous people....
I seriously don't want to risk... so what should I do? what would you do if you were in my shoes.?
