depends which embassy she works for and how willing she is to help.

My fiance's brother was friends with the canadian consulate to Beirut, and he didn't help at all.

So its you and your luck...doesn't hurt to try. However, you just received your AOR...your still in the processing times shown on the cic website.

well if i tell you, you wont believe how fast the process became in abu dhabi visa office,
within 3-5 month medical after aor,,, so lets see how ill be lucky or not.

seems it was like that before,,, if they can be that fast then why there were to slow//
do you think it was political issue?

This is for people who are living in Canada and are permanent residents not citizens and need to renew their pr card before they travel, to be able to come into Canada.

Dear, the section title is for New Immigrants, and they never mentioned that this is only for renewal !!

Check these two links:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-first-pr-card.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing.asp

As well, to make of all of this, I will be contacting the CIC call center !! ;)

I think he means when he gets his passport stamped he can go there for couple of weeks get an urgent processed Pr-card then leave again.. hopefully it works for his conditions..

If you see it from another perspective, they might tell him that the visa is valid for 1 year or a lil less, why would he land immediately rather than finishing everything when it comes to a certain job and then do his landing?

he mentioned that he needs around 2 years to end his contract which is beyond the limited one year time, but if his file gets delayed for another year now like the years that passed so he may not have anymore problems lol

csaade,, as I think since residence visa is renewed every year in KSA its risky, they may ask him why did you renew your residence..

In UAE they done the same, so now immigrants they never renew their residence visa, before it expires they leave, since they dont stamp on exist at canada boarders..

so its bit risky..

Oh ok, I understand what he means...but these forms are for people who haven't received their pr card in the mail, after waiting the processing time. The second form, for the emergency pr, are for people who have an expired or lost card, not new immigrants waiting for their cards in the mail. He needs to read the page carefully!

Well let it be at least 3 months time before inquiring, which makes sense

It was supposed to be Sept. 18, but because he sent in documents, she is able to inquire 90 days after they arrive at the VO. However, I made a mistake and I think the update will be on August 27th.
