LOL I know. But it's one stamp, how slow can they be?
The people I know who received their stamp, dropped it off on a Tuesday and picked it up on a Thursday.
Calling CIC later to see if it's ok for someone to land for a few weeks, and return home to settle things then return to Canada. Specifically, if its ok to physically bring someone's PR card to them.
Called CIC about the above issue and this is what I was told.
As soon as a person enters Canada he will become a permanent resident, even without the PR card. As a PR, a person can choose to leave the country whenever they want even without the card. However, if they do that, the person needs to apply for an "emergency travel document" at the Beirut embassy. The agent told me it will be refused if the appropriate documents are not submitted and he also didn't know how long the processing time is.
I asked if I can physically bring the PR card to him, and he said that I can "try" but they don't recommend it because the Border agents will cease the card if they find it. This card can only be in the possession of the owner. Canada will not mail the card to an address outside Canada.
Hope this helps if anyone is in this situation.
