im also asking myself the same question!
but i sent my medical in mid august.. so now its been almost 3 months

However, i sent my police certificate/updated docs in mid september, and immediately after receiving them the embassy called me saying u have 8 weeks ( which means ill get the PPR in mid november)...

as usual i tried to plan for the worse with CIC, so ill take it as 8 weeks from now and thus it will be round new year... yalla its better than nothing and Papa Noel will bring me a visa !

As I heard that new applicants security check is done before medical, since they send new police certificates.
while for old applicants updated police certificates were required with medical. medical and security checks at same time.
but not sure

They are not currently requesting new police certificates in the medical email..

guys im amman applicant not bucharest... the embassy in amman has moved to a bigger venue in amman and been working at full capacity ( i even think they changed the staff cause they were so nice on the phone)

as we are all waiting ,
what are your preparations for landing ? Do you plan to land , come back to your country , finish your business and then settle in Canada ?
Isn't a waste of time ?

I plan to go and not come back . Started to look for some job offers , still haven't figured where to settle.

I already landed many times but not the "for good" one yet.
I'm going for a visit in few days but it's gonna be a long one... I have a feeling the ppr might be at the beginning of 2014... No one knows yet
I think you can settle anywhere you want for a start, get a rent until you find a job but the issue from what I've seen is that the landlord makes you sign a 1 year contract, unless you get a good deal somewhere and pay a monthly rent
