No idea. How do we know the embassy is not lying to you? The caips notes match what I've been told. Maybe due to military service it takes longer? Maybe in some visa offices, background checks are done before the medical. But to me, it would be a waste of money and resources. Why would Canada spent $ on background checks if someone may fail the medicals.

Anyway I'm sick and tired of talking about this. Everyone can believe what they want...the truth is we are all waiting and there's a backlog.

I've been waiting since July. the mp office always gives me true details.
My wife lives in Ottawa and I have been there many times as a visitor, I should've received the imm visa a long time ago. I'm sure it has something to do with the military stuff and backlog, both affecting the process...
Have some patience dkeyrouz and wait till November, hopefully you'll hear something by then.

Everyone's ones situation is different and every officer works differently. So there will always be differences in the way the files are worked. I think November will be a good month.

Also, everyone I heard of received their visa's after 6-7 months of waiting. Not sure why Amman is so special....maybe they have less files?

whatever before or after or being soo deep security investigation or just checking black list of canada and Interpol,but the most important thing that would give us a real prognosis to what would the waiting period keep running:

anyone in this forum heard about a lebanese person received his visa from bucharest office yet?

if yes so please share the information with us so to calculate the time frame it tooke.
if no so the 6-8 months are still the only credible informations we can relay on as bucharest hv begun sending medicals since late february-march and till now no 8 month yet .

I spoke to someone at my work who immigrated a couple of years ago, he said his security was done after his medical. So it might be different between countries/individuals.

Keyrouz i agree with you!!! When i asked my immigration lawyer who is based in Canada and one of the best, he told me that from his experience in immigration for the last 30 years, Security checks are done before the medicals.

Aslan even if you have a medical problem, but it is not contagious or doesn't cause any excess cost on the Canadian government, you can still immigrate. Read the immigration website clearly for this.

Security checks usually take place first la2nno ma fee mazeh!!!

A lot of people may have health problems, but still immigrate .... akeed unless it is HIV or something that poses excessive costs on government.

I am sure their is a procedure before that. Their are thousands of people that have applied before us and thousands after us.

I am sure their is a procedure before that. Their are thousands of people that have applied before us and thousands after us.

What happened in Syria delayed all our files and even the workload has increased substantially in Bucharest although they are much faster than Beirut.

if it's to me I'll let people do the medical first just to avoid investing time and effort on ones who do not pas the test.
either way it will took no more than 8 months and in these days time fly and personally I have loooot of things to do in a way it makes the 8 months period barely enough to shutdown my things here and move over

Visa caps reached for 2013 ?? Can be a reason, if so, january should hold tons of visas for all the waiting list..
