time will fly, just shop around. I spent almost 12 hours there last time because my flight was late by 15 minutes and there wasn't any other flights to Beirut until late at night.

And...I got stuck helping a crazy old Lebanese lady who kept swearing and smoking inside the airport and couldn't speak english...I tried to make sure ppl didn't think I was with her LOL

I always choose Frankfurt airport for layover cause it's big and nice, lots of people coming and going.

hi, till now no 2011 applicant got medical exam , lately it was december 2010 turn and as it seems they are working by chronological order,jan 2011 should be next and yours should be within few months.

Hello guys, first time on this forum. I received my CSQ in 2010 and my federal file was opened in March 2011. Does anyone have any idea when the medicals for MARCH 2011 may start ?? My file was transferred to Bucharest in March this year.

I've been away for so long, it looks like some of you are finally getting happy news! That's great!

I just wanted to stop by and tell you all about my landing experience, and my first month in Canada. The landing was incredibly smooth and easy. I was worried about the proof of funds, but all they did was ask how much money I brought with me and took my word for it. The CBSA employees are really friendly, I was actually surprised by that.

Montreal is a beautiful city, I'm really loving it. People are generally friendly for a big city, and there are so many cultural events and things to do that time just flies by. In the first few days I took care of all my business (opening a bank account, health insurance, getting a SIN number, etc...) and after that I just took my time exploring the city.

I had trouble with accomodation, as I had found a place to rent online but when I actually got there, it was in a really bad shape, so I ended up staying with a friend for a couple of days before finding a shared apartment with a really nice Canadian.

I have not found a job, which is the trickiest part, but I may be heading back to Lebanon for work for a few months, so I'm not really making a lot of effort to find employment here yet. But bear in mind that it will take you some time to find work in your chosen field, which I guess is something you all already know. Another piece of advice: save as much money as you can for your move to Canada, because with the taxes, your money will be gone faster than you anticipate.

which bank do u find good to deal with at a start ? what area u think is best to live in (in Montreal or Laval).
i hope u enjoy the festivals there before going back to leb.

You are right Dkeyrouz. We have been waiting for years now to go to Canada.We all chose it not to be rich,but because we want stability ,security ,decent quality of life and at least you can start a family and raise kids who will have a future.
I don't care if i wash dishes in a restaurant ,or a cashier,or in a gaz station as long as I earn money, until i found a good job.
There is no shame in working.The shame is to give up and come back to lebanon.

it is a bit unfair of you. maybe what u say its true but maybe he is just landing now going back lebanon to prepare than come back.. we didnt hear his version yet.

in any case you wont find a job in the first months unless your extremely lucky ... its hard but nothing is impossible preparing, networking before you land is essential. if you just go and pray that youll find job in your field w 3a allah like here. well you wont find...

anyway lets hear why hes cming back.. we dont know yet his reasons

i am not arguing about this issue. you are totally correct. but i mean maybe he just went to land than come back prepare and go for good. at least thats what i am doing with my husband. kamen if you leave ur job here with just what 15k that they ll tell u you need for your first 6 months and without planning (your degrees certifications, preparing your cvs, start sending applications for jobs etc..) yaaneh you dont know whats ahead of you.

where do you plan to land? I have friends were federal and moved to quebec, got job in quebec, also I heard 2 bedrooms house 2000$/month in Toronto while in quebec 600-700
