I have an update. I received my CSQ today through post.

I actually called up MIFI without checking my post box (Had checked over weekend and CSQ wasnt there). They informed me it was approved on July 9th and sent through Canada post and may take sometime to reach. They also mentioned that I will receive 2 copies, one of which I need to forward to IRCC.

CSQ AOR : 11 Feb 2020
CSQ Approved : 9 July 2020

I have two letters ; One that addresses the Principal Applicant and the other letter Address me (the sponsor).

- Which copy do I send IRCC ? The letter that address sponsor or the letter that address principal applicant ?
- Do I need to send the original ? or Can I send the photo copy ?

I know guys it is difficult to wait, I've been there, but I am telling you MIFI works quicker than federal visa offices.

That's because, since May, more MIFI agent are back in the office to process files. Also, many outland applications are now stalling because either the office is closed or they work are extremely reduced capacity. We can't expect all officers to bring files with personal information when they WFH and do not use a secured network. When I called MIFI, only one agent mentioned that the call was not using a secure line (forgot what he said verbatim but it was a disclaimer). There is a security issue when people are working from home and expected to deal with clients personal information. We cannot expect them to work at pre-COVID speed in these conditions. The CSQ delay is not supposed to affect the PR application. If the IO wants, he can expedite the process of the PR application even without the CSQ. And as I posted above, MIFI was able to process 90.3% of applications within the promised 25 business days in 2018. So they should be able to process some files now. They are underdelivering whereas we were used to MIFI processing applications faster than the expected 12 months and now when they complete it in 11 months, we say they are taking too long.

The letters are not the CSQ. There are two forms that are almost identical, both titled Certificat de sélection du Québec. At the bottom, one says 3 - Immigration Canada. You can scan it and send it through webform. They will reply within a few days and confirm it was sent to your VO.

Can you share your timeline? Was your BGC completed? I ordered GCMS from CSIS and RCMP. Nothing has started and medicals were done in December. I understand the delays for the app to get DM but I wonder if many others are waiting for their bcg to start. Edit. Sorry misread and now realise you already had pre-arrival letter. So did the CSQ delayed your PR (assuming there were no covid delays).

At present, the Ministère is issuing a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec selection certificate) for the applications received on:

• In December 2019, for a spouse, de facto spouse or dependent child;
• In December 2019, for other family members.

Quebec have finally moved into December! I was starting to get sick of seeing November everyday. However, I have seen a lot of people who get their AOR in Feb and have now received CSQ. So don't 100% trust this date.

Currently, around a 3/4 month wait from AOR to CSQ.

The processing delay is calculated from the received date. MIFI has always referred to the received date on their website. The AOR date is irrelevant here.

I also just called them and they told me that it got accepted but not mailed yet, and they don't know when they're going to send it. Are we supposed to also get the acceptance by email? And what is the next step now? Thanks!

MIDI will never stop surprising me ...they don't give an exact date anymore. I'm just wondering how long it will take them to get to January. Let just pray for the best.

I'm sent my CSQ request in January. Not expecting my CSQ before October. Would not be surprised at all if they scaled back the date on the website to November or October next week.
