Good Morning everyone

I received my GCMS notes today and noticed some updates on my file. My application had passed all stages and was ready for a decision since October 2023. However, in March/April, my spouse’s security clearance expired, leading to a reprocessing that was completed 2024. At that point, everything was once again passed and ready for landing, but no decision was made.

Unfortunately, due to further delays, the security clearance has now expired for me again. According to the notes, the security is currently “in process,” which means the file is once again incomplete.

It’s frustrating to experience these repeated delays, but I remain hopeful for progress.

@canuck78 thanks for your input but please note that when i applied process time was 24 months and now i am at 44th month.

No major updates,

but I did notice in my latest GCMS notes that my security check has expired again.

The situation with moving is quite difficult, especially considering my children college situation, as they are in the middle of the semester. We are still planning if we can fix this.

Unfortunately, we are all stuck in Quebec, and the situation appears increasingly uncertain. Processing times continue to be extended, making it difficult to remain hopeful.

Good luck to all in Quebec.

To be fair they will get longer in all of Canada so everyone should expect to likely wait longer for processing. Thinking longterm your children would benefit from landing in Quebec if they plan to attend university in Quebec since it will be substantially less expensive than attending post secondary ed in the rest of Canada.

Thank you for your kind words.

Many important aspects of my life depend on PR for example and most important if I want to meet my mother she is very old and weak and can not travel longer and I know I cannot travel to my home country. Even if she visits nearest country to see me, I would still need PR to be allowed entry with my Travel Document. It has been eight years since I last saw her, and if I had received my PR on time, I would likely already be a citizen and able to travel freely also my son and I have missed excellent job opportunities solely due to our lack of permanent residency.

I dont understand why security checks are being conducted repeatedly, especially since they were already cleared once and we have been here for nearly eight years.

They are not treating us like normal human beings they act as if we are insignificant. On the other hand, other immigration streams go from application to finalization in just six months or slightly longer, even though they involve the same security, criminality, and other assessments. Yet, for us, the process takes years.
You can’t compare asylum to other PR programs. There are certainly drawbacks but it also a very generous program that is costing Canada a fortune. There is the option to visit family in a 3rd country. Unless preventing you from getting Canadian employment not sure you will get any sympathy about limiting your employment opportunities. Asylum is really a last resort situation based on safety not opportunity.

Unbelievable

Then why didn’t you apply thru an economic stream ?

And you’ve been complaining about the country and or system that gave you and your family refuge safety since 2021

As mentioned, zero sympathy
