Congrats!!! That is such good news!! So you never had passport request at all? Would you mind sharing where you are to receive copr this quick? We're from visa exempt country now in Montreal and are hoping to straight up receive copr too!

Congrats again, feeling must be amazing.
Thank you! no, never received passport request as i am from a passport exempt country :)

i live in gatineau, which is literally 20 minutes from Ottawa...I think it explains why I received it so quickly. if you're in montreal you should receive it tomorrow or monday!!

Thanks so much! I'm so excited :D Last thing we saw was the MyCIC update which says approved and that instructions on what to do next will be sent to us.

What do you guys recommend? As I live Montreal the border is pretty close or should I ask CIC for an appointment? anyone from Montreal or same situation?

Congrats!! And good to know. I haven't checked the mail yet but I hope we received COPR too! :D

We did get an email today that said they had mailed COPR and to contact them if we don't receive it within 14 days, so that's pretty awesome. I won't fully be at ease until PR card is in hand, but we're super happy :D

I received the email today too! And I was home so went to check and there was it, I'm sure you will have it too. For the PR card do you know if we get it when we go trough a port entry? I'm like you I won't fully celebrate until everything is "official" haha

I'm not positive but I think they just stamp your passport and tell you they'll mail the card to you. It would be really cool to get it on the spot though!

I won't be home until much later tonight but I'm getting antsy... seeing that paper in person will be amazing :D

Did you receive the CoPR by e-mail or letter?

I don't think it's possible to receive COPR by email, it's always a physical letter. I could be wrong but I don't think so...

Hi notsodarkblue,

Thanks for updating! :D Can you give more details on what happened on your side? Do you mean you got decision made on eCAS? What about your MyCIC account? Did you get PPR email and are you from a visa exempt country?

A few of us are wondering what to expect after our status changed to decision made on eCAS but we didn't get any other update than that.

Hey,
Look, I am not good at recognizing those abbreviations of technical terms. what exactly is MyCIC? Is it the "check application status" on CIC website?
what then is eCAS?
I regularly checked the "check application status" link and the "Link your paper application to your online account" within it. (I have been wondering if they are actually myCIC and eCAS that ppl have been talking about.

@Vin360, as I see in your other posts, your got "decision made" in these accounts, right?
I wonder if on "Link your paper application to your online account", do you see items "Review of eligibility" and "A background check is needed" statuses changed to something else (they are always "Review in Progress" and "In Progress" respectively. Or did their statuses change at the same time "decision made" appear for "Final Decision"?

I submitted my federal application about 2 months after you did. I hope I am getting close to the finish line soon.

GOT COPR IN THE MAIL :D :D

So very happy!

We'll go to the border for landing next week. Very excited! My only concern with the COPR is that the last date of entry is wrong, it says it's January 2015 but we did go on vacation for 2 weeks in July last year, so that should be last entry. Is that something we can just point out while landing with no issue? Other than that, the last letters for her nationality are missing (United States of Americ and South Carolin), but I'm guessing that's okay and just character limitations. Please let me know if I'm wrong and if there's anything we need to do BEFORE landing about the last date of entry thing.

Good luck to all! :D

Hi Smearingo! eCAS is indeed what you're looking at! The "link your paper application" link within it is MyCIC. Both provide similar info (and it's worth noting that they're frequently out of sync, with one being updated before the other, so it's worth checking both to get an early scoop sometimes!) For me, eCAS updated first with the "In Process" link you click on to get detailed info changing to "Decision made". A few days later, MyCIC updated with Final Decision: APPROVED. A background check is needed and eligibility were both as you said before final decision became approved. Those tend to change all at once. If you want to get super detailed info on where your application stands, you can do as we did and order GCMS notes under the privacy act, the process is quick and you'll get a pdf file with every little change and decision they took on your application so far. It can give you a clear indication of progress!

Best of luck to you! :D

Hey when did you send your passport to cpc ottawa? How long it took to get the copr in mail?

Hi usefuluser, we never had to send PPR due to being from a visa-exempt country, so did medical in July and ended up getting COPR a few days ago. From decision made, it took around 5 days to get COPR.
