::) HELP PLEASE

Does anybody know about the point system very well ?
As per the web site we can gain upto 28 points in education

i've done 4 year full time undergraduate diploma (outside canada) = 10 POINTS
now m persuing quebec vocational diploma (900hrs) = 6 POINTS
AOT of quebec vocational diploma gives me 16 points = 16 POINTS

So i will get 28 points ? ::) ???

Yes Quebec Diploma gives additional 6 points apart from ur score in Schooling and AOT.Experts please suggest if i am right!

Points for education are assigned based on the highest degree ever archieved. If for example you have multiple degrees that worths 8-10 points and an advanced degree like MS/PhD you'll have 12 points as assigned for the highest educational level. Those that are below aren't counted. The fact that it's earned in Quebec doesn't give advantages under this criteria. It matters only for AOT points.

Thanks. Your AOR will indicate that you met a minimum threshold o points to open the case. After that your file will be evaluated in details with two outcomes: 1) If you have 55+ points then CSQ is issued 2) If you're within 49 to 54 range you'll be called for an interview
Thanks Ievgen for ur reply. Actually i am a married applicant. My wife has done 3 years of Diploma in Electrical and electronic and then joined the 2nd year of engineering college because of the diploma advantage and completed remaining three years of study in Computer science engineering.Though she is a holder of Bachelor of Engineering in Computer science Engineering which is in top of the priority list she did it in 3 years as the first year was waived since she already completed diploma. Also she is working as a Software engineer for the last five years. So my doubt is will her AOT give me 3 points?

My guess is that you're right and 3 points should be assigned for AOT. Work experience isn't counted for spouse and it has to be provided only if the diploma was obtained more than 5 years ago.

Hi everyone! Posted this message to 'Quebec applicants share experience' thread too, but just wanted to introduce myself here too since I'm pretty much a 2013 applicant.

I'm a CSQ applicant and a long-time reader of the forum. It felt like it is time that I introduce myself.

Here is my profile:

Sole applicant (no spouse or kids)
Education: 12 (Canadian master's degree obtained a year ago - equivalent to Quebec diploma, recognized across Canada by the relevant provincial professional bodies)
AOT: 6
Experience: 4 (6 to 11 months in fragments, mostly as a research/teaching assistant)
Age: 16 (In the 18-35 age bracket)
Language - French: 14 (B2/C1)
Language - English: 6 (IELTS 8.5)
Stays in Quebec: 5 (As a researcher for three months)
Financial capacity: 1

Expected total: 64 points

Applied from within Quebec in October 2012, got AOR December 2012
No news ever since. The call centre says that the application is being processed (en traitement)
I'm hoping for news but the processing times (as shown on the website) are simply unknown

In Quebec, I've been doing an internship in addition to job searches and networking. I can say that it's tough here, but I still want to live here, in Montreal. Something should come up.

At the same time, I was admitted to an internationally renowned top university for further studies in my field. It really is a once in a lifetime thing, and I am planning on going, only to return to Montreal once graduated. I hope that by then, the visa etc will come through, but it would be a relief to receive the CSQ soon.

So here's my story. I hope that your stories are unfolding well - it's always nice to read people's good news on the forums.

Peace out,

M. Grumpy

You'll find all the information to apply here: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/. Start first with the online self-evaluation. If you pass that, then you can start calculating your points to figure out if you've reached the passmark to get a CSQ (63 for married, 55 for single) , or at least the preliminary passmark of 57 for married or 49 for single. Then at least you can start your application process and know which things you're lacking and need to focus on in order to get the CSQ. Good luck!

Look at this guide for application as well: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=hu&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca%2FdynamicSearch%2Ftelecharge.php%3Ftype%3D7%26file%3DGPI-3-1.pdf&act=url

Thanks Ivegen! With regards to Family in Quebec I verified the Rule book released on 1st of August.Since it is written in French i am not able to understand.Could you elaborate on this!

I am currently working in Quebec. My child is born here in Quebec and living here till now with us and has not travelled outside of Quebec since he was born.My child being a Canadian citizen and living in Quebec can he fetch me 3 points for Family in Quebec as per the rule mentioned above?Kindly elaborate as i can not clearly translate the above rule mentioned in French.

Thanks,
Try starting with this online evaluation tool by Quebec's Immigration site: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/epi.html to see if you qualify. Then try Cohen's site (actually, THIS site) to manually compute and know how many points you actually have: http://www.canadavisa.com/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html Good luck!

Great thanks Raistlim, actually I did at official site of Quebec and it says yes I am eligible. Actually, problem with official govt site is that its brief and you can add additional qualifications, moreover it doesn't have country UK in the list who awarded me ACCA degree. strange ??? Moreover I did MBA from Pakistan in 2003 and QSW policy (states that graduation in last 5 years) but automated form of govt of quebec for eligibility assessment doesn't address these things.

Thanks

Try to use a google translator if you don't know some words. I use it on a regular day base since I do have an intermediate french :)

"The dependent child of the applicant (or spouse accompanying) must be taken into account for this test, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada and have been domiciled in Québec. For example, a candidate whose son is already a Canadian citizen living in Quebec with the other parent is awarded points criterion Family in Quebec. However, if the child is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada accompanying the candidate, which is almost always the case, it will be rather evaluated as Children factor. "

My opinion is that you should get 3 points because your child resided in Quebec at all times and didn't travel outside.
