I left Canada for home after finishing summer classes. It wasn't until I arrived at my home country when I realised my student permit and Visa expired 6 days before my scheduled flight out Canada; which meant I've overstayed by 6 days. Without a new visa, I had no choice but to delay my flight back.

To be clear, both visa and student permit expired the same day. My objective at the moment is to return to Canada as soon as possible and wait out the approval for study permit. The sooner I'm be able to return to class, the better. This is the part where I'm unsure of what to do:

I need help renewing visa and student permit. Since I live in Malaysia, all applications are to be directed to the visa office in Singapore. However, the website does not indicate steps I should take to proceed for my situation. I understand that I need to submit an application for student visa (CAD$125 fee.) At the same time, another source from CIC also indicates that I should submit a form for temporary resident visa and include a CAD$200 student visa renewal fee.

I'm fairly certain that for my case, all I need to do is to submit an application for study permit. However, I'm uncertain and thus I'd appreciate any help you folks can provide.

1. You need to submit the application for the Study Permit, with all the required documents. Fee of $125.00 http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/singapore-singapour/visas/study-apply_demande-etude.aspx?view=d
