Hi All,
I see so much of experience on this topic - so hoping that some one can clear my doubt asI have submitted my application online a few days and have a doubt regarding the medicals.
I had PTB 14 years back (1998-1999) and it left a scar in my lung. Since then, by god's grace, I have not had any problems. Every 2 years I go for a standard medical check and the latest X-Ray result says "Fibrotic Opacity seen in upper right lobe". I took a second opinion and the doctor said - "affected lung tissue got healed by scarring. Just like a scar form on the skin over any injury, similarly a scar has formed in your lungs. It is an area of healed lung tissue in the form of fibrosis"
When I go the CIC medicals later in July, will I be asked to go for a Sputum AFB and the 2 months Culture?
In 2007, when I had to work in the UK, after my X-ray, I was asked to undergo a CT scan where the result was immediate and based on that my travel was cleared by my company. In London I had to undergo supervision (visit to a hospital in London every 3 months for a general checkup which stopped after 2 visits).
Can anyone help me with the following?
Will I be asked to asked to undergo the 2 months Culture test or do I have the chance of going the CT scan route which is much faster and showing my previous X-Rays?
Any inputs is appreciated as this helps in planning my relocation and child's education.
