Hi everyone. I just received an email yesterday Sept 6. 2016 saying "Your immigration medical examination result has been received and in order to complete the assessment additional information is required. Present this to the panel physician who did your initial medical examination..."

Anybody who received the same email and what is the next step? I already completed my sputum culture test last May 20-22 but I haven't requested for re xray. I already went to the clinic where I did my initial examination however the physician was not there and they said I'll just wait for the call.

I am just worried what should be the next step, I hope it will just require me to do re xray to compare my prev one which is last May 2016. In addition, I also completed my TB medication way back in 2009 (and also showed the proof to the physician during initial examination). Is it also possible to require me to undergo TB medication again? Thank you in advance!

Hi kimmy,
any update? i have also medical surveillance..my flight to manitoba will be on sept.13...
As far as I know, they will mail you the instructions..
hi there. Im good now.
So heres my advice to you Kuya.
once you arrived in Canada, the immigration officer will tell you to call the number of manitoba medical surveillance. (which you have been provided)
after a week, i called them, they asked my details(date of entry, manitoba health number, mailing address), then I was informed that instructions will be mailed to my address.

one month has passed, no mail from them. so i kept on calling them thru phone then finally their staff gave me call back.

since i still have not received anything from them, i was asked to fax them the medical surveillance form.
i faxed it to them then week later i received a mail from them, acknowledging the copy of my form that i sent out.

then the letter mentions that i will still be receiving another mail from the specific clinic along with instructions and appointment date.

and now im still waiting for the additional mail.
so there :)

Hi

I am undergoing treatment for TB adenopathy. A lymph node TB that I had it surgically removed 6 months ago and then put on 6 months of medication that I am currently on. All tests done for pulmonary TB and is ruled out.

I received ITA just a week ago and I have scheduled CIC medicals in 10 days from now. My medication treatment is getting over in 8 days time. I have asked my treating doctor to give a medical report post treatment that I have undergone a full 6 months course of medication for extra pulmonary TB.

My questions is

1. Can I go for the CIC medicals as scheduled or reschedule it like 20 days from now so that I collect medical report from my doctor with chest X ray report showing I have no pulmonary involvement (hope I don't!)?

(OR)

2. Can I just go to the CIC medicals without disclosing anything about my current TB treatment or anything; because I am afraid my application may get rejected, delaying, complicated or something!?

I am too confused what to do. Some of my colleagues advice not to tell the CIC panel doctor anything about the treatment. I am not sure if I can listen to their suggestion and at the same time I am also afraid that I will be asked by CIC panel doctor to provide multiple reports, various referrals like pulmonologist opinion etc., all these might prove troublesome, delayed or even result in rejection of my application?

Please share your opinion about my case

Thanks

hi! KimmyCRN

Just want to ask when did you arrived here in Winnipeg?
Since ive read your timeline that youve undergone treatment for 6 months and had PPR May 2016, when is the expiration of your visa?

coz my sister's treatment will be done next month October 13, and their initial medical was January 2016. that means it will expire January 2017. my worry is its possible for them to retake medical again ..and another period of waiting

so there :)

My sister status as of the moment is 26 more days of treatment left. She had sputum test last August 15-17, the test was negative and waiting for the culture result next month. Her husband and son had their skin test or PPD and the result was negative too. Her last day of treatment is on October 13. Were hoping that she will pass all this tests and will end up for PPR before year ends..

Hey,

Its best to be honest with the medical practitioner and advise you are undergoing treatment because they would know anyways from your X-Ray as the scar always shows up on it. I would suggest taking all your X-rays and medical reports from your family physician suggesting you have undergone treatment for X-ray for 6 months and you are all good now. Then its completely up to the practitioner and CIC panel to decide whether they require any additional tests like sputum, repeat X-ray or consulting a chest specialist for feedback.

Just be honest with them and there could be a delay in your application but you won't be rejected. If you're not honest chance are high for rejection. Also just go on your scheduled date as delaying your medical test date will only delay your application as CIC will do what they have to so they can ensure you pass your medical. All the best!!

Really appreciate the advise. But I want to be specific; let me explain my case clearly.

I don't have pulmonary TB or lung TB. I don't have a lung scar. My recent chest x ray and all previous ones never revealed any scars in the lungs. Lung TB was completely ruled out by my family physician.

For your information, TB occurs in many different parts of the body. The way TB organism got into me should be like this. I was exposed to the organism, the organism entered my lungs, went into blood stream without causing anything like scar or symptoms (maybe my immunity fought it well). Since the organism is/was in the blood it can infect any part, as my body permits. So I got a lymph node TB. That's called TB lymphadenitis.

My doctors removed the node surgically and put me on a regular TB medication for 6 months as it is the protocol here (whatever kind of TB, medication and duration of treatment are pretty much the same).

Now it is my own physician who's treating me suggests that there is no need to mention about my current TB treatment during the medicals by CIC panel doctor. He is telling that the X ray that will be taken by CIC doctor will not show anything abnormal since I don't have lung TB. And moreover the TB that I have cannot spread. And I am finishing my medication in less than a week. He is telling that the immigration doctors usually screen only for lung TB. My doctor suggests if I disclose my lymph node TB, I might have unnecessary trouble of proving to CIC panel doctor that I don't have a lung TB by having multiple referrals like pulmonologist opinion and further unnecessary sputum, blood tests and x rays and medical reports from various physicians. All these are expensive and time consuming (not covered by insurance, because I don't need them clinically according to my treating doctor). I will have to spend from my pocket. I know if necessary it is necessary. But I am confused and perplexed when my own doctor tells me 'that's okay, go for the test, no need to say anything about your current treatment!!'

What do you folks really think and say as this is my situation..?!

Thank you everyone for your help and motivation. So many ups and down throughout this process but this forum and the group members helped me to keep up the spirit all the time. My actual aspiration to immigrate to Canada begin in 2013 but unable to make it due to many reasons, but finally here I am

Hi! IMGNSPNP,

I have a question, how if an applicant had his initial medical last January 2016 and end up with his treatment for 6 months. And settled all the causes of delays.Let say he has been request for passport this November 2016.What would be the expiration of his visa? It will be the January 2017 as his initial medical? That would be mean he has to enter Canada before January 2017 before Visa matures?Hope you will answer back my queries. Tnx in advance.

Would you mind if i ask you when did you arrive here in Winnipeg?

My sister's treatment will end on October 13 and she is scheduled for re xray on the same day. Were thinking that if she didnt get passport request before end of this year that means they have to go for a repeat medical .since their initial medical was January of this year.

You will have the visa validity until the date your medicals expired and your date of medical validity begins from the day when they declared your medicals passed.

example scenario:

initial medical : 01 - 2016
medical passed : 11-2016
medicals expiry date will be 1 yr i.e. 11-2017
validity of entry stamping in your passport will be upto 11-2017
