Hello everyone, As of today the new Public policy for extension of pgwp is now available to apply. My pgwp expired on September 2020 and currently in the process of restoring my status as visitor. Since I am eligible for Public policy for extension of pgwp, when I am putting the date of my expired pgwp in the system to apply this application, it's not acceptable and shows that's you can not apply as you have exceeded the 90days period. So I am very confused now that how should I apply for this application. I did put my date when I applied for visitor status application and it worked.
But my question is that I am suppose to put the date when my pgwp expired and it did not let me proceed to apply this application?

When you complete question 7 of the application form

  • Under “Status”, select Other
  • Under Other, type in “Requires restoration”
  • Leave the “From” and “To” boxes blank.

But if you check the checklist it mentions to put worker as current status -
You would like to work temporarily.
Answer either less than or more than 6 months.
You must select worker as your current immigration status.
Answer “yes” when asked

Hey guys, I was wondering would it be an issue if I apply 4 months 9 days before my expiry? I have to travel for my wedding and I wont be able to apply at the 4 month mark. I will come back in a month but wont be eligible in that case either as this work permit requires that you have been in Canada throughout.

Are you working? Just earning you that there seems to be tougher travel restrictions in the pipeline. Would make sure you have a copy of your lease and proof of employment to help you return to Canada.

I think that will result in an automatic refusal. The rules are unfortunately pretty clear. You can't submit your application until your application is expiring within 4 months and you must also remain in Canada. If you are applying before the 4 month mark and then leaving, I don't think there's much hope your application will be approved.

Did anyone with an expired status apply today??
If yes, can we work after applying? Or we need to wait for approval? Thanks
