Hi All!

I have been working for the past year as a NOC B, 6211 (Sales Lead/Account Executive) at an advertising company, 35 hours a week etc. I already got an ITA, but had to decline since I actually was only at 51 weeks at the time of ITA (May 23). Im at 512 points currently.

I am moving to Toronto in June, but my boss wants me to stay on Part time to wrap up some existing accounts. This will be 15 hours a week (Tue and Fri), remotely, but with same pay and responsibilities and renumeration on phone bill.

He has helped people get PR before so knows all the things to put in the contract and reference letter. Everything will be the same, and ill still be getting a T4 instead of a T4a.

Would this continue to contribute to my 1+ year CEC requirement? I am at 54 weeks on June 5, but would like to add a couple more weeks to make sure!

Thanks for your help.

Part time will count as long as detailed in letter by your employe. Total the part time hours, divide by 30 and round down to get the equivalent full time weeks. Will certainly help if employer knows how the reference letter should be set out.

Thank you! This will be ongoing until We are done all projects, maybe in 6 weeks. So this means I will likely still be working when I submit next round ITA. Should the letter say ongoing and do I have to notify CIC when I quit? Thanks!

From memory if it is a current employment this can be entered as such in the PR application. The letter should reflect the position at the date of the letter. If there is a planned employment end date this can be put in the letter or not as you and your employer prefer. You can enter clarification of any part of your application in the LOE (letter of explanation) section which is a free format section to explain anomalies or entries which need extra information. Any changes in status after submitting the application e.g. change of address or employment can be advised to IRCC using a case specific enquiry form.
