PRTD Urgent

I am applying for a PRTD urgently as I have not received my PR card yet despite the processing times. I researched, and I can request to enter Canada with a PRTD but one of the requirement is to submit a letter explaining why. Does anyone has been in a similar situation? My son is 14 years old, and he is attending an important soccer tournament in the USA as he is pursuing to start his soccer career as a professional player. The PR portal specify reasons like critical illness and more severe situations but there is one option like "others" which is the one I am using. I appreciate if someone may have a letter similar to my case.

What is a COPR?
Your paper from IRCC stating that you are a PR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence).

A valid PR Card is only a requirement of a commercial carrier to be `transported' to Canada. The card is NOT needed (but always recommended to have) to actually `enter' Canada (CBSA inspection).

Has anyone on this forum entered Canada with a PR card expired? I am looking to prepare my speech, what to say, what not to say, etc. I’d rather gather recommendation from real cases.

Yes. Many have.

Here's a tip:
Answer any and all questions with short, concise truthful answers. If the CBSA officer(s) need more info, they will ask.

Just to close this thread, I am updating in case someone is in the same situation. The officer just asked me to prove the receipt for the PR card renewal. Since I printed the screen from the PR portal, I was able to demonstrate that my PR card was in the process of being issued, and he let me in with my PR card expired.
