i came to this forum to express my ideas and opinion, it doesn't mean i am absolutely correct, so are you.

There are several reasons why applications in Islamabad might take a long time.

- it might be hard to staff the embassy there, since it is considered a dangerous place for Westerners
- Pakistan is violent, security checks might be difficult and extensive
- perhaps government documents are hard to verify, easy to forge
- perhaps Pakistan has acquired a reputation for marriage fraud
- perhaps Islamabad is also responsible for dealing with applications from Afghanistan, which might be even harder to process and clog up the system

I am sympathetic to both sides. This is a long process that destroys families and ruins opportunities; but Canada has to make certain that it is not importing violence. This country has a history of accepting sectarian troubles (Tamil, Sikh) and recently two terrorists killed in Algeria were Canadian citizens. There is no pressure in Canada to speed up immigration from Pakistan, and a lot of pressure to cut it off totally.

Remember, Canadian citizens do not have the right to bring their spouses here -- they have the right to apply. The Canadian government chooses the conditions under which they come. I am certain that this long wait is partly owing to Pakistan's violent society, which is no one individual's fault, but cannot be ignored by CIC.

And partly owing to the government's unwillingness to negotiate with foreign service workers. Their collective agreement ran out 2 years ago.

of agree that pakistani applicant is taking long coz of certain reason ....

but as u say canada is also facing problem from tamils and skihs but indian time line is reduce and frud marriage is more in india and china instead of pakistanperviouslly it was 8 to 9 month but niw its 4 to 5 months

I dunno about islamabad, but I have a feeling you will have a very hard time protesting.
I know the embassy in mexico city is highly secure, you cant even take pictures of it and when you walk up near the front security comes out right away to ask you want you need and if you dont need to go inside they send you on your way.

Its very difficult to linger infront without a valid reason to be there.
And i know in Mexico the canadian embassy wont do anything about protestors but the Mexican police will arrest you for it even if it is peaceful.

its very secure.

I think going to the media is a better way if you plan to do something about it.

Well, Tamil Elam has been destroyed, and the Tamils are a small minority of the Indian population. Sikh terrorism has been reduced as well since the days of Indira Gandhi. Meanwhile, Pakistan is wracked by violent protests about a movie, there are constant slaughters of religious minorities, political assassinations, and deep corruption. The Taliban in Afghanistan is an outgrowth of Pakistan. It is a region of the world that has not yet been able to decide if violence is acceptable or not, when faced with something one doesn't like; whereas Canada has decided this question.

yes you are right that not everyone's marriage is for convenience,..
CANADA is not forcing anyone to come here, if you don't like our system, stay in your country or move to other country.

Trolling again are we?

People who have applied under the Family Class are married to a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.

Our current system is not a system designed to reunite families. Its a cost cutting effort that the Conservative Government expects citizens and Permanent Residents to pay for. So therefore it is not "our" system it is the system of a tyrannical antidemocratic government.
