Proofs..

Hi there,

My now wife and I have been chatting for over 4 years....now, I know we need to send proof of chatting, but if I were to print all this, it would take about uummm....60 000 pages ....we talked everyday for 4 years almost............so, what can I do ?

How many pictures is it good to send? 30-50?

I am not sure to like the fact that my private life becomes public but oh well....gotta do what we gotta do.

Personally I would go through your emails and pick out the ones that highlight your relationship the most..perhaps send 40 - 50 emails in total? 10 or so from each year to demonstrated that you have been continuously communicating for the past 4 years, it depends on the quality of your proof..definitely dont send them all...IO will most likely skim through them and check the dates etc..

For the Photographs I only sent 15 of me and Tim together and with the Kids, then 50 from our wedding showing the ceremony and reception and ones with people in the background to prove people attended..

Not sure about the medical..I think you just have to trust it got there

What do you mean by emails that highlighten your relatioinship? We constantly send e-mails to each other from work, but it's more like : what are you doing? ...it's not like love declaration, we mostly use telephone or skype videocam for this!!!

Just pick out the best ones just so that Immigration gets the idea that your constantly communicating, our emails were like that too."hi how are you" "whats your day been like?" "miss you" that Kind of thing..CIC is looking for constant communication..if your sending in skype and phone records dont worry about sending too many emails! I have lived with my Husband for 5 years now..except for 6 months when I went back to England..for that period I submitted 2 phone bills and 5 emails and they were nothing special! I guess that was enough proof as I now have my PR..

do I have to send the originals of the marriage certificate and her birth certificate with the traductions or could it be a copy?? In colombia, they gave me a photocopy of our marriage certificate and her birth certificate from the official registry which remains in the notary over there. SO for me, the photocopy is the original which I went to legalize at the foreign affairs ministry in Bogota and then translated in English.

So, my question is, can I make photocopy of this or do I have to send them. What is considered an original?

If you have any emails that greet each other during your anniversary or emails that communicate how much you love and miss each other, that should be included. Also, emails that show you planning trips together, going on vacation, visiting family and friends, etc.

Another tip, you can go to this website and download the skyepcallexporter so you can export skype calls between you and your wife.

You should send the original copies you got from your local registry along with the translations. Do not send in photocopies.

you don't have need to send all 60,000 pages. pick some starting one then middle then current date ..... so it's easy for you to proof that you know her from last 4 years and still talking to each other......

but yeah pics. is good so there you don't have to count them just send it.

I read somewhere that in case of appeal, the backs of pictures will not be photocopied. Just my two cents, but I chose to print mine out as a word document so I could write underneath who was in it, and when it was taken.

You can get Word docs printed at Staples and other 'photo print' places, if necessary.
The poster read that 'in case of appeal, the backs of the photos won't be photocopied' from a post I made. My husband's case went to appeal. In our application I sent the photos loose, and wrote a description on the back of each one. For an appeal, the visa office sends the documents to the Immigration Appeal Board, to the sponsor, and to the Canada Border Services; these were photocopies, and they did not photocopy the backs of our photos, so therefore the Immigration Appeal Board (that is, the judge at the appeal) did not have the information about the photos.

You can print your photos with a border, and write a brief description on that.

Writing on the back will only be a problem if the case goes to appeal, since I assume the visa officer will have enough sense to turn the photos over to check if something is written on the back.

the photocopies you received at the registry center are the originals they just need to have the proper sign that certified and legalize them... dont forget you´ll need the original birth certificate and the original marriage (the photocopies the registry gives to you)...they first are legalized ther eon the offical registry and after by the foreign affairs ministry..
then you have to take them to a proper translator one approved by the canadian embassy you should go to the embassy and ask for the specific list while you are there ask for the doctors approved by canada embassy for maiking and appointment for the medicals... in bogota you need to send the medicals along with the original papaerwork of sponsorship .. they would ask you later to have new ones if they expire...

i forgot to tell you there a really good forum for colombians migrating to canada but is only in spanish it is really helpfull
