Proof of Relationship

Hello All.

Am getting a little flustered and confused on over the matter of providing proof of our relationship. I met my now husband on a online video game 6 years ago, where most if not all our conversation where held in-game or on Ventrilo which does not log conversations.we were married this last July. We do have photo's from the wedding day, Christmas's, birthday's and holidays we took together. Will that be enough or should I include screen shots of our online game relationship?

In my opinion yes you should send any info that proves you had a relationship it all helps.

I sent our facebook's conversation around 250 pages!! From 2 years of distance relationship, plus photos (200) wedding invitation. My husband used to send me gifts so i also send all the receives from DHL

Around 20-30 pictures, all labeled, when, what, what occasion, why; Letters from relatives, friends, letter from sponsor. Mariage proof etc.
Just put yourself in cic officer's shoes and see if you can believe the information you are about to send.

This. I think much more and it's just a waste of paper and CIC won't bother looking at it anyway. Be selective, especially about chats pages and emails, etc. The just need to see that it's genuine, not your whole life story.

It really depends on the country of nationality, your living situation, etc. If he's from a visa-exempt country then you won't need as much proof. Still, within reason, it doesn't hurt to get as much as you can. My husband and I lived together for 9 years before applying, but we still sent in (selective) chat logs and emails, train/bus tickets, hotel reservation receipts etc. (We met in a game too, btw).

It wouldn't hurt to show the way you usually communicate either, so the officer understands how the relationship developed (old screenshots would be a good way to do that).

5 years ago my husband and I met on an online game as well. Like you, first few mos of our conversation was on game. What i did was have a cover page explaining that the first few mos of chatting was on game followed by FB, Skype etc.
