U can if u have any of their branches in ur city (at Pakistan). OR u can definitely do so with any of the international bank who have branches in both locations, viz. HSBC, CITI, RBS etc. However, their service charges could kill u (way much higher than the Canadian ones).

HI Qorax,

I will be landing soon. I am an AEO applicant and I have not found one applicant with a landing experience with an AEO. If someone did landing with an AEO, please help.

I was told by my consultant although I am an AEO applicant I will be asked for POF at the port of entry. Can I show POF if asked for in the form of a bank statement and some cash equaling the required amount. I will be staying in the usa for one week before landing in Canada. I do not want to take the risk of carrying a draft or that much cash with me for that long.

Please advise. Thanks.

Daniel

As an FSW-2 settler u r NOT REQUIRED to demonstrate ur settlement funds. Ur agent is not advising u correctly.

Hi,

Anyone tried to do wire transfer before landing ? in this case you can only show a soft copy evidence of the wire transfer, is this will be accepted ?

Thanks in advance.

Dear All,

I am writing this email from Dubai. I am planning to land in Toronto on the 8th of march 2013.
I plan to stay in Toronto only for 4 days after which I would be coming back to Dubai.
I plan to shift permamnently to Canada after 6 or 8 months.

We are three pax, me, my wife and my son.

Regarding the proof of funds:

1.Do I still need to bring in $17,011 to Canada for 3 pax even if I am staying only for 4 days?
2.Would it suffice that I show this money available in my wife's bank account in Dubai?I can show this as original Bank statements .
3. I am planning to take 2000 CAD in cash for spending those 4 days. Would this be acceptable?

Appreciate your quick response as I am planning to fly out in the next few days

Thanks
Rony

3. I am planning to take 2000 CAD in cash for spending those 4 days. Would this be acceptable? U shd have the total money in easily liquidate mode i.e DD/TC etc. or Cash
Appreciate your quick response as I am planning to fly out in the next few days

I do it all the time, I have an a/c here. Do u?
If u don't, then where'd u transfer the money? If u do, then the statement of a Canadian bank a/c is good.

Hey thanks for the information.

One more quesiton, since I am going to be staying in toronto for just 4 days for the landing, I am thinking that I shoudl take Travellers cheques in my name for about 18K CAD

But I dont plan to use these TCs in Canada as I would be returning to Dubai in 4 days. can I encash these Tcs once I am back in Dubai and receive my funds back?

I am just taking these TCs for showing my funds

Would this be a problem? What do you advise?

I think NO PROBLEM that ways ....

1. Does one need to take some DD/TC as a proof.

Or

2. One may take a full amount as a Bank statement of Bank (Nova-scotia) having branches in Canada and some cash without any DD/TC.

I am asking because i am planning the second option

plz advice

Hi qorax / All

If someone takes 11k in CAD travellers Cheques , is it hard to cash travellers Cheques in Canada ? Can someone advise or share experience about cashing huge amount of Travellers Cheques in Canada....Can we deposit the whole amount in Traveelrs Cheque to open a bank account ?

Thanks

Is there a declaration that has to be signed on landing re POF that you have not borrowed the funds or got a loan? Or do I have to go to a Solicitor and get something like this?
