Proof of Funds Question for Landing - Help!

Hi Guys,

I needed some clarity in regards to the POF in order to complete landing so hope that someone can help.

I know that the CIC website has the necessary funds listed at $12,164 CAD for a single individual. In my EE profile I put funds above this amount and had the necessary financial statements to prove this, hence it wasn't an issue while applying for the PR after receiving ITA. However, since applying due to some family situations I have some unforeseen expenses.

So my question is at the time of landing, if my updated bank statement w/ settlement funds, is less than the bank statement that I applied with or less than the amount listed on my EE profile. Is this going to be an issue ?

I will still be able to prove that I have funds above the listed $12,164 CAD but just not the exact amount listed on my EE profile due to expenses I am about to incur. Please let me know if this will be sufficient or if I will encounter any issues.

Appreciate any help I can get on this, thanks!

You definitely need to have at least the $12,164.
I'm not sure about the other aspect.

Thanks for the response Istari, yes that isn't an issue, I'll be able to show well over $12,164 CAD. But perhaps just not what's in my EE profile, although I still have all the bank statements from my financial institution. So I can prove at the time of applying I had these funds, however at the time of landing, the updated bank statement may not reflect this, hence I'm not sure if this will be an issue.

I don't see an issue. For as long as you have met the minimum POF, you should be fine. If you've declared $14,000 in your EE, but in reality you only have $13,000 when you land, you should be fine because you are still carrying the minimum POF.

That's what I'm hoping, in reality I'm not lying about anything as I mentioned I still have all the bank statements and letters from my financial institution confirming the amounts in my account, that was included with my application. Even with this little caveat, I will still be above the minimum POF so that certainly isn't the issue. Nowhere do I see anything confirming/opposing this, so I'm not sure what to go by.

At the time of landing, how recent does your bank statement need to be ?

I landed June 5th, my latest bank statement was dated to May 5th so a month old, no issues. I took 6 months worth.

As long as you meet the minimum, it doesn't have to match or exceed the EE.

THIS IS MY OPINION FROM MY EXPERIENCE

I was asked 3 questions by IO on Landing at Toronto (my wife and I only)

1. How much do you have on you? (my answer was far less than PoF requirement)
2. How much are you transferring later? (again less than PoF requirement)
3. Do you have goods to follow?

Stamped my papers.

They did not ask to see any documents. In my opinion, if you carry the bank statements you used for your EE profile or updated statements is fine. If they ask - explain what you did with the money: 'I bought tickets' or 'I deposited for a place to stay', those things are part of what you showed that you had funds for.

Thanks for the responses, I guess it seems like the officers are only concerned that you meet the minimum POF requirements for the time being, so that's good to know. Yeh I will be carrying all the EE related documents with me when I land as well as updated financial statements, I feel like it's better to be over prepared when it comes to this process.

Appreciate all the feedback, thanks!

Definitely varies, I wasn't asked any of these 3 ;) I assume by Toronto you mean the airport though, I would definitely expect these at the airport and more likely on outland landings too.
