Please I need help, I got the ITA one month ago and my father is going to deposit me the money of the proof of fund as a gift deed. The problem is I have not deposited any money in my account in the past 6 months. Should I decline ITA and leave the money in the account for 6 month before applying? or I can continue now and the gift deed would not cause a problem
You don't need to show 6 months balance if its a gift deed! Don't decline ITA...

No need to decline ITA, just get the gift deed made and get the money into your account. Gift deed doesn't need to stay 6 months.

Folks please hear what I am about to say, coming from a guy whose PR application got rejected
because of POF.

LOE is very important
yes, you can submit a gift deed letter signed by a notary public
just include the gift deed information in your LOE

in gift deed letter your father must include the line that "the gift is unconditional, and you can keep the moeny as long as you wish and you can spend it any way you want it"

LOE is very important.

Awww thanks for the info. Did you reapply/correct the LOE/POF error in your previous application?

prepare a gift deed and quote transaction number and explain in LoE. Please note that you ONLY NEED a GIFT DEED and NOT an affidavit.
Hi
Please how does it work if I am getting this money from someone abroad? Does the person (by himself), write a normal letter giving me the monetary gift, sign it with a witness over there, and then sends me the document?
Can it simply be scanned to me when he's done writing?
(But then how can I put my name on the letter?). So does the letter need to be sent to me via via post like dhl so I can put in my name? Or there's no need for me to write my name myself?

Above all, does the giver need to notarize the document in his country of residence before sending to me? Pls advice - who does what?

I believe it needs to be notarized abroad with all the account numbers and amount of transaction. He/She can email the scanned document to you. All you need is the scanned copy to upload.
Am not sure though.

OK thank . I do like your information .its straight forward for me :-) Cheers.

My spouse is already in Canada as a PR. I am applying through EE. I have a joint account with my spouse. I have transferred CAD 5k from the joint account to my personal account which is my main POF account. While I am showing the bank statement for the joint account do I still need declaration from my spouse?or it is ok to proceed without it since I am a co account owner. Any views?

Sorry I don't have any view about this. Perhaps more experienced members can weigh in on the matter :-) Goodluck

Is it mandatory to have the gift deed done from parents? or anyone can gift me money, like a friend?

it is much easier to get a gift deed from parents since they can declare it's their savings and is willing to gift their son/daughter. friends... i'm quite not sure how that might work out or what would he/she declare in the letter
