Hi Seniors,

I have a question regarding POF, I am submitting the following documents as POF, please let me know if these are sufficient?

1. Balance certificate from Bank. This certificate includes my Current Balance, my name and address, bank name, address, contact details and logo. Signature of the branch manager and stamp of the bank.
2. Last six months account statement from bank containing all the above said details and account open date.
3. Notarized gift deed from my father.
4. Notarized affidavit from my father.

The balance certificate from bank does not contain the average balance of the last six months, thats why I have provided the account statement from last six months, is this ok?

If you received those funds over 6 months ago then there is no need for a gift deed.

Cheers :)
Hi DelPiero07,

I was wondering if you are sure that we don't have to provide evidence for deposits that are more than 6 months old. I had applied for Ontario nomination in February and just now received a request for additional document. They are asking me to provide 6 months bank statement (Jun'16 - Nov'16), and they are also asking me to explain large monthly deposits to my account. But I interpret that as asking me to explain large deposits on the statements that I had sent to them earlier (Aug'15 - Jan'16). Do you think they only mean deposits on the most recent statements (which they haven't seen yet)?

Thanks!

This is a different case altogether. I don't know exactly the wording of what they are asking you so i'll say this:

1 - If they are asking for bank statements from the past 6 months then you'll have to explain large lump sums deposits from those months.
2 - If they want to know about the bank statements that you send because there were large monthly deposits you will have to explain those.

Again, I don't know the wording of what is being requested to you so you'll have to figure that one out.

Cheers :)

Hi Experts,

Is deposit/saving certificates acceptable as a proof of funds?

If yes, kindly check the question below.

Unfortunately, thebank does not provide the position for the last 6 months and it provides the deposit certificates details only on the current position , noting that the bank statement does not include any details about the deposit certificates as it includes only the current accounts in the bank, is this will lead the application to be rejected? Please advise

Appreciate your prompt support as we have received the ITA. Thanks,

Only if the certificate lists the average balance over 6 months, otherwise you need statements. This is to prove that you have had the money in your name and it's not a loan.

I have the same issue as well - I have Fixed deposits in INR worth 14000CAD. I have these deposits for more than a year now. I downloaded digital certificates of these deposits and there is a column that says " Loan Availed = No". The certificate clearly shows NAME, DATE of OPENING, DATE of MATURITY, DEPOSIT AMOUNT, MATURITY AMOUNT and LOAN AVAILED = NO.

Would this suffice? Please help.

I would be careful when using digital certificates, make sure you get an official stamp from the bank if possible.

A member here got rejected for using e-bank statements with no bank stamps.

Cheers :)

Ohh ok - thanks for the caution. In that case, would scan copies of the original deposit receipts with all the details and bank stamp on it should be the one that is the most safest. I was wanting to know if digital certificates could fly so I dont ask my folks back home to scan those for me.

Thanks so much for the direction :)

thanks a lot kryt0n for your kind support,

Unfortunately they bank deosn't provide the average for deposit certificates as they say They are fixed but fortunately the position shows in the "HOLD" filed equal 0 for all the certificates ... I think it's ok to show that the certificates are not in hold for any loan, am I right?

If it is a savings certificate, it should display the date of initiation. If that date is older than 6 months, you don't need to worry about average balances. If less than 6 months, IRCC will ask you to prove source of these funds.

Hey guys,

Did the dollars change?? Last time I checked with currency converter the (fund requirement) amount was significantly lower.. I checked and the fund requirement hasn't changed, but the currency converter (the same one I used last) is now showing a much higher amount... Can anyone confirm?
