Hi guys,

I created and submitted my profile yesterday. While using 'Come to Canada' tool it showed me that I am eligible for Express Entry. However, after creating and submitting the profile on CIC, I got a message of 'Not Eligible'. Wondering what could be the issue?

Further, can I still do the JOb Bank registration despite of my profile being ineligible?

Yes, applying under FSWP... As per my calculation, I have secured minimum required points.

Age- 29 years (12 Points)
Education - Masters Level (WES ECA Done) (23 Points)
Language- IELTS Aggregate 7.5 bands (Listening - 9, Reading- 8.5, Writing- 6.5 and Speaking- 6.5) (22 Points)
Experience- 3 years and 10 months (1 year and 11 months in NOC Code 'A' + 1 year and 11 months in NOC Code 'O') (11 Points)

Simply fail to understand what could be wrong!

Is your IELTS still valid?

What value have you entered for POF?

Got it!

Unfortunately you score only 66 points because for work experience, you score only 9 points instead of 11 as the work experience has to be at least 2 years in the same NOC.

All the best!

Alright, if that's the case,

1) Can I still create my profile in job bank? OR it is only applicable if you have secured 67 points?

2) I believe if my spouse appears for IELTS and scores required bands, we should be alright. Is it mandatory to get spouse's ECA done or just IELTS score will do?

Please answer these so that I can proceed further.

Thanks.

Wait till you finish 2 years of experience so that you are eligible and proceed further. No point creating job bank profile till then.

Spouse ECA and IELTS are both optional. You are free to get spouse ECA and IELTS done to improve your CRS score but you'll still not be eligible till you meet the criteria as mentioned above.

Thanks.

Doesn't it work this way?

I already have 66 point on my own (considering just one year of experience in NOC 'O'). Now, if my spouse appears for IELTS and secures good score. In that case, I must be crossing the barrier of 67 points and become eligible for EE.

Thanks Asivad Anac, you have been a great help but doesn't it work this way?

I couldn't find in CIC website that its mandatory to have minimum of two years of experience. Plus I also tried above mentioned scenario and found myself eligible using CIC's Come to Canada tool.

Hie Check the finance part on the express entry.. make sure that you put the money required in relation to the number of family members. remember to include yourself when asked how many family members. :D

You're right about spouse IELTS getting you points to help you qualify. I was looking at a more immediate solution of qualifying since you have 1 years 11 months of experience under a particular NOC. The minute you complete 2 years in that job, you will get 2 point staking your score up to 68 and you'll be eligible under FSWP for EE without needing your spouse's IELTS.

Where you're possibly going wrong is giving yourself 3 years 10 months worth of experience while doing the FSW points calculation on the 100 point scale. I explained this earlier.

Thanks all for your inputs. Unfortunately, in my case bridging that one month I would of gap is an unlikely scenario.
I would be better of claiming points on my spouse's IELTS score to get to the other side.

But in the meantime, it would be advisable to be ready with my jobbank profile, isnt it?

You make the job bank profile after the EE profile because they give you a reference number to use to link them both. If you make a job bank profile now it'll be redundant and you can't link it to your EE profile.
