Initially, I put 1 as well and it didn't work then I tried 2 and it worked... weird but worked. As for the delay I don't know what to say/think anymore
... from what I've seen here it seems if the sponsored spouse is a male and if they lived in another country it's taking forever to get the visa. My husband lived in UK and India and I think that's what's causing the delay. Now, I am starting to worry... I know about 2-3 people here who lived in 2 other countries and have not received the visa yet.
If nothing happens by end of this year, I am thinking of staying with my husband until he gets the visa but if we quit our job, immigration can use that against us(they will basically say u r unemployed at the moment so u won't be able to financially support your spouse) and reject the visa. Living in SriLanka will be hard cuz even if I get a job most likely it wont be enough to pay my monthly bills in Canada...oh man.. this is too stressful. I don't know what to do, I am actually so lost with my life at the moment

Rainbow21 said:Yes kankan I read that today as well .... I really dont mind abt the conditional pr cuz it prevents a lot of fraud against marriage which is y I believe is a good idea.. But then I really dont undestand that they r delaying to give pr and increasing the months it takes to process our application this needs to stop and they r being biased also based on certain countries..
u know something Rainbow I think if someone really want to fraud the immigration they can easily do it. Its not hard for someone to pretend to be in a good marriage for 2 yrs and walk away from everything once they get their PR. Funny thing is its real couple like us who are paying the prices while the wrong ppl enter canada so easily.Rainbow21 said:Yes kankan I read that today as well .... I agree with what most of you are saying -- if you have lived in another country in the past, it does delay your visa processing. I was in another country for several years before permanently moving to Sri Lanka and I think this is what is causing the delay. I submitted my file in November 2015 so almost a year now.
What's unfortunate is that these guys keep increasing the processing time, so we can't expect them to reply either. Hopefully the processing times will go down and we will start seeing some action soon!
Oh and I also received an email from CIC asking for my medical -- funny how all of us are getting requests for it around the same time! Somebody told me that the VO often does mass approvals, like approves a bunch of applications at the same time. So this could be great news -- lets keep our spirits up and hope for the best!!![]()

I remember you saying how your husband is queued for an interview. If you don't mind can you kindly please share what it says in your linked account beside "scheduling and interview". Please and thank you.

I was wondering if any of you have similar update recently on your linked account. Today when I logged into.... this is what it said.
Scheduling an interview We need to schedule an interview with the applicant
Also it said "your action needed". But it doesn't clarify anywhere what action they us to do. So confused. Can't contact my husband right now. Because he is travelling to colombo to do remedical. So I'm trying to get some info in mean time. Any input?
