I added your timeline in the excel sheet... feel free to edit. Don't worry , there are lot of ppl getting the VISA in 8 months time. We ll get there sooner. Hope you had good time in SL other than the embassy visits . My wife says in a funny way, she ll advise her friends, not to marry any Canadian..

the excel sheet is very nice to have.. thank you for that .. yes a good time but it was very hard to come back it took me a week to get back to normal.. lol a lot of people back home talks like that.. how Canadian visas take forever.. it really sucks to hold on every single day for a phone call from the embassy.. crossed fingers

Yes... no one gets any updates everyday i check here, no good news.. I guess not many sri lankans come to this forum as other nationalities. I guess Rathika already got the VISA.. Mel will get soon

yes i hope they did.. they have been here ever since thread started... im so sick and tired of checking ecas daily.. my husbands med is expiring next month the 26th ..

i doubt if mell and rathika had got their visa, they would have updated us...I think rathika is in SL with her husband, so must b just living life

it would b so nice if you got ur visa before the medicals expiry...but i dont think you'd have to do ur medicals even if it expires, coz i think its good for 1.5 years according to the latest news release...so u should b good until the end of the year...but i just hope you get your visa soon...i cant imagine having to wait until the end of the year for this visa

hopefully we get our visas soon.. we're on the same timeline.. how do you know medical is valid for 1.5 yrs? where can we find this information? i really want rathika and mel to get theirs ive been reading their msgs everyday.. its so depressing.. y does immigration have to put ppl thru this its okay if they take time and approve for visa.. but when they reject.. its a whole entire mess... i hope there will b a change in the system one day.. lets keep praying ..

hey thanks daisy and jaffna for remembering me and mel....i dont know what happened to mell but iam here in srilanka with hubby still no words from the IAD office ....i hope to get an ADR but its all is in gods hands..its very depressing some time for me to know that when i leave from sl i have to leave my hubby behind ..and this appeal shit is also killing me...i hope and pray that no one will have to go through this....i wish you guys all get the visa with out an interview........and visa dust for all of you....god bless

Hi guys i am new to this forum.

I am applying for Family Class Sponsorship. my wife is sponsoring me it was a love marraige. I see most from you guys from SL. So my story is I lived in Canada for almost 3 years refugee claimant . Met my wife in dec of 2010. Got married in aug of 2011. And for my bad luck received notice to apply PRRA two day later after i got married. Two options apply for PRRA or leave immediately. Applied for PRRA. It was rejected in Feb 2012. Told to leave Canada by March 2012 by CBSA. Complied and left the country back home. While reading the forum, read some scary stuff about regular sponsorship and things that happened to people. .

My question .....

1.) I have done my meds, done my police reports in the country i was in expect for Canada. completed both sponsorship forms mine and my wife's. IS there anything i am missing ? ( it will really help alot.)

2.) has anyone been in the same situation and how long did it take for your sponsorship ?

3.) I know there will be a interview for sure does anyone know on exactly what they would ask ?

4.) Do i need to fill and give the Authorization to return to Canada form with my sponsorship or will it be taken care of by the office in charge ?

5) my wife had a surgery but was not on disability but she got Sick EI benefits for 4 months and didn't leave a current employee how will this effect ? .

6.) what is the minimum income my wife needs to show to sponsor me ?

7) please any comments on this situation or any thing i missed. This will help me and my wife a lot.

There is another form Part III: Country specific.
As you were in Canada and declined to stay here.. I would fill the applications with a good lawyer. I don't know anyone to recommend but please find a really good lawyer.. You should avoid the obvious mistakes

For lucky applicants, the total waiting time looks like close to one year.. Hope you ll be in that time line too

I did not get your question, There is an authorization part, if you are filing with a lawyer..

EI wont affect at all.

There is no minimum limit, but better to have something to support you. For two person, $27,674 http://www.canadavisa.com/immigration-financial-ability.html It is not a MUST. Subjective

You have to show enough and enough supporting documnets.. Take your time.. Dont hurry ....Never let them ask you any missing documnets/signature etc.. It is very tough time...we all are going through... Please find a good lawyer...who is familier with your kind of case... Welcome to our forum and best wishes to you

My husband got medical request on March 19, 2012. The result reached to CHC first week of June, 2012. Also requested to pay Landing fee CN$ 490. We paid it June 5, 2012. He didn't get any update after that.

Did you guys get any request to pay Landing fee? Pls. reply me.
