Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

HI guys, im still here and no update for me. i applied in mid september, and the 20th of this month will be 11 months for my sponsorship. i dont know what to do anymore, The area MP is not responding to my emails.
do u think i should ask my husband to go to the embassy??? this is soo depressing.......

Did you visit MP office? Why dont you visit their office?
iF it was me, then I will as my wife to check with embassy.
When is your med expires? You have to ask embassy before your med goes away.

Hi All, I don't actually belong to this thread since I sponsored my husband inland. But thought I'll just post here, since my husband's mother visited while his application was in process. I didn't expect her to get the visitor visa since my husband's application for PR was still in process at that time. The visa application centre told her it would take 10 business days so basically 2 weeks, and now when I checked the CIC website it says 14 days (so I'm guessing 3 weeks?) even though the website of the Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka says it takes only one week to process the visit visa. In any case, my mom-in-law had to sign a guarantee that she will return to Sri Lanka at the end of her stay.

Melbell, just thought I'd let you know all this, I can imagine how frustrating it must be, but the good thing is they haven't rejected your husbands visit visa yet, the longer they take means they are actually going through all the documents without rejecting it right away - which is a good thing I guess - try to look at it that way. And I guess it's taking longer because he already has an immigration application in process.... as they say no news is good news!

Watnxt - We gotta wait until they send the letter before redoing the meds. I'm not gonna say anything or do anything. They will give it when they give it..

Mel, do we need to submit medical for visitor's visa? I am going to call my lawer to see can I apply for visitors visa? If I do that then it will be her 3rd app.

I havnt visited the MP, but im keeping in contact with them via email. this is so frustrating.
I met a friend today and she sponored her hubby and it took her 1n hlf years. OMG. she said that they did a "background check" for her hubby. n the backgroud check itself took 8months. i dont know the reason why though? i just hope that doesnt happen to any of us

Shif, I know many ppl who applied in sept still have't got their visa. Their PR status is still ivn process. I applied in oct and no changes on ourPR status so far. Not sure why Colombo takes this long while other chc r doing good.

Visitor visa does not require the meds.. My husband called the visa office yesterday to follow up on his passport and was told that there is a delay in processing visitor visas at the moment for some god forsaken reason and that we can expect his passport back by next week maybe. Apparently it's taking more than 3 weeks and how they count the days elapsed is Mon-Thursday. Right now according to their math, we have hit more than 10 days. Next week makes it 14. God knows whats going on with these ppl.

Either way, we are just staying put until further instruction. It's a terrible feeling to be this lost. But there's no way out now right.. Also just to let you guys know, my husband was told that the Visa office is having some issues. I don't know what these might be, but if there is such a long delay, then i'm sure something is up. Too bad they have $H!T communication skills. Maybe if they told us what was going on, we would cope a little better.

I hope they will consider this issue and speed up process when they r back to normal.
Not sure if any one got visa in recent weeks. Need to ask my lawer if any of his clients got recently.
Next week is short week for Colombo since full moon day fall on wednesday.

My wife went to the embassy yday, and they told her that its pending, i dont think she gets her visa before her med expire
