Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

I am entering into 10 month this week. I applied first week of Oct, 2010. If i dont get it by mid of next month than i wouldnt get it for while. My med expries next month.
Mel, I feel same here. Tired of this think. I said same think, My life controls by colombo embassy, to my manager. What to do, we have to face it.

Watnxt, you are ahead of the game. I am pretty sure you will some updates within the next few weeks. So just hang on tight and let us know if something comes up. If they don't call your wife before the meds expires, it'll be best to check in with the embassy before a week or two. I will PM you more in detail.

Yeah, that what i am going to do. If they dont call then I will ask my wife to visit embassy. Your friend is head of me. If he get it by this month then I can keep the hope for next month. Otherwise I will be in bad situation.

My friend's wife went to the embassy 3 days before her med expired and she was asked weather she could fly within 3 days and she said yes, then she was given visa,( this was last year) mine expire on 19 of this month, and my wife is going there this thursday.... i hope for the best...

How does her name appear in eCAS? Her brith name or after marriage name?
Mine used to be her birth name and it has been changed to marriage name recently. So I am wondering to know what about your wife's name.
I heard that some ppl asked MP's help to find out status. Not sure is it good idea or not.

She never changed her name on the passport... and im waiting till her med expire to go the MP, once MP send them a email they have to reply within 2 weeks i heard
I hope you will get it before your med expires. It is really painful to wait this long. This week is quite so far. No update.

sooo we still havent gotten hubby's passport back!!! i have noo idea what on earth is going on, but i am curious to find out..
Hi All, I don't actually belong to this thread since I sponsored my husband inland. But thought I'll just post here, since my husband's mother visited while his application was in process. I didn't expect her to get the visitor visa since my husband's application for PR was still in process at that time. The visa application centre told her it would take 10 business days so basically 2 weeks, and now when I checked the CIC website it says 14 days (so I'm guessing 3 weeks?) even though the website of the Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka says it takes only one week to process the visit visa. In any case, my mom-in-law had to sign a guarantee that she will return to Sri Lanka at the end of her stay.
Melbell, just thought I'd let you know all this, I can imagine how frustrating it must be, but the good thing is they haven't rejected your husbands visit visa yet, the longer they take means they are actually going through all the documents without rejecting it right away - which is a good thing I guess - try to look at it that way. And I guess it's taking longer because he already has an immigration application in process.... as they say no news is good news!
