Please present this letter to VFS for the purchase of the secure Passport Transmission Service. VFS will send your passport to the High Commission of Canada in Colombo in a secure envelope. You will be advised by VFS when your passport is ready to be picked up.



• Permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.

• There must be at least two blank pages in each passport.

• We are unable to issue a visa with a validity date beyond the expiry date in your passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months when you submit it.



2) Photographs

Please provide two (2) recent photographs along with your passports for yourself and each accompanying dependent. For instructions on photo requirements and specifications, see:


Your passports and photos must be received by the visa office in Colombo within 30 days of the date of this letter. Failure to comply with this request could result in the refusal of your application.

According to what I've seen in the forums, it's usually between 2 to 8 weeks

its a page in your sri lankan passport or manybe in any other passport. next to main picture page. i had to make a photo copy of that page . which is just a blank page in my passport.

I got the same request in April. They're simply 4 pages in your passport that say ALTERATIONS AND OBSERVATIONS at the top. Photocopy these pages and send them with the email the Colombo VO sent you

They could be 3 pages too right? Because our passport has 3 pages that says alterations and observations

Since they requested the passport do you think we get VISA stamped for sure ? we didn't get any emails yet from VFS , so How long does it take to get passports back from Colombo CIC.
