Processing time for outland common-law PR through London, UK

Hi everyone,

I'm really worried because I sent my application for common-law sponsorship (outland) in mid-February. I stupidly lost the receipt that showed my tracking number from Canada post (I sent it from Canada but am now back in the UK as my visa expired about 15 days after I sent my application in). I'm really worried as I expected to have had at least an email sent to me by now, confirming that they have received my package...but as yet, I have heard nothing. My boyfriend is currently living in our old apartment in Toronto but cannot afford the rent on his own, so he will be moving back with his parents at the end of this month. I obviously need to notify CIC that my postal address has changed. I was thinking of just putting my boyfriend's parent's address (as I did specify for them to communicate with me via email). However, how can I phone CIC and change my postal address if I have no tracking number? I have a copy of the receipt and have tried to input this into their tracking page but it is not recognised.

I am so worried that the application never even arrived!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can't phone them and change any information.

Count 75 days from when you submitted the application to have an idea when your sponsor should be approved. They do not communicate to everyone that they have received the application, most persons do not hear from CPC-M until the sponsor approval is received. Check your email, including spam/junk, if you gave them an email address.

When your electronic Client Application Status (eCAS) is active (after the sponsor is approved), you can change your address via a case-specific enquiry (they will not reply but they should update the address on eCAS), or email London at their general inquiry email address. Again, they might not reply but they will likely action it.

Have you tried entering the receipt number along with the sponsors details on ecas?
Looking at current processing times, it will probably be another 3 weeks or so before you receive sponsor approval.

Yeah, I have tried inputting the receipt number and details.. it just comes up with a message saying that they were unable to open my file. I do feel a bit better knowing that not receiving the email doesn't mean they haven't received it yet. I guess I'll just have to wait patiently like everyone else..
