Processing time after sending passport

Hey guys and girls!

My passport was requested by CIC Ottawa on Monday 28th Feb. Essentially everything is all sorted and completed, I was just wondering how long until I receive my passport and docs back from them.

I sent xpress post and included the xpress postage for them to return it.

I sent mine to Detroit and took less than a week...

How are processing times calculated?

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.

When estimating how long you will wait to receive a temporary visa, you must also take into account up to 10 days of transit or delivery time on top of CIC's processing time. The time your application will spend travelling to and from CIC will vary depending on where you live.

From what I have researched, general length of time post sending your passport for receiving of documents is approx 4-5 weeks. Ensuring you include an xpress postage form to ensure what postage time also.

This is based off information from people who have gone through the entire process and averaging time of when passport was requested and receiving of their documents back from the CIC.
