Hi,

I believe that the current processing time for Stage 1 (approval of sponsor) is at 11 months, for an Inland application.
From what I have gleaned, if you send an OWP along with your sponsorship application, and your sponsor is approved....in 11 months (AIP), you will receive your OWP.

I don't know if it's possible to get it in 6 months, unless you are extending an existing WP...maybe?

Don't worry...someone that actually has your answer will chime in. I was simply passing thorugh and wanted to reply.

Good luck.

If you have a closed WP, you should file for an OWP with your inland application BEFORE the end of your current work permit, and you can keep on working (under implied status), until you receive the AIP ( approval in principle, first stage of inland application). Then they will process your OWP and send it to you. So if you're on a closed WP, you can keep on working throughout your waiting time, provided that you include an OWP in your inland application AND you file before your current WP expires. So if you're ready to file now, and your WP is valid until May, it's all good...

Good luck,
Sweden

It's currently taking 11 months to get AIP.

Sweden applied outland - not inland.
