Not necessarily, as they are 2 separate criteria's. No one knows the actual process used but it could simply be based on a complete form. I have seen candidates getting rejection reasons as course not in line with study, language skills, etc even after getting a AIP.
hahaha .. even i see many applications with rejection after AIP. btw how does a file generally seen when u apply for visa. in one of the threads i saw that Case Processing Agent and later the VO will see. if that is the case. this whole AIP SHIT is utterly nonsense in my view.

Canada as a country shldnt cheat people ...

From what I've read, it is initially viewed by a junior VO who marks 'recommended pass' and then the senior VO reviews it again and if he is not satisfied he can still go ahead and reject.

i accept that, but as per the IRCC no one shall get a rejection based on eligibility after AIP, this ain't fun right ....

I believe this information is procured while doing a background check which starts automatically the moment you apply. With advanced technology it is not that difficult to procures basic information such as a declined VISA. Recently on this forum someone got a ban because their agent submitted some fake education documents.
Share ur full profile details. Only then some one can help u..

Background: On Apr. 2019 I applied for visit visa and I was granted. I visited Canada on Sept. 2019 and returned to UAE on Nov. 2019. Since I wanted to study in Canada, I applied study permit on Apr. 2020.

The reason I got Procedural fairness letter is that I forgot to disclose my US visa refusal in my study permit application form, which I have mentioned on my previous visit visa application. In the letter reply that I have sent, I really explained that is was purely an honest mistake and not intentional, and I ask for consideration.... I would say that it was my fault coz I did not double check the application form.

AIP's main (but, unstated) reason was obviously not to help international students but to help Canadian colleges and universities so they could legally keep accepting and making $$$ off international student's admission fees... Call me cynical but yeah that's my belief...

Hello, I also got The Procedural Fairness Document saying that we missed to inform about US Visa refusal. The application was Open Work Permit and I missed to add the US Visa Rejection. I have now hired a lawyer to look into the case and have gotten all the documents ready. I have 15 days.
I have been waiting for more than a year for decision and now this. Please help guys. What are the chances, I am really tensed. They mentioned, if they are not satisfied then there is 5 years ban. Please guide me guys, I cannot afford that. My spouse is in Studying in Canada.
Please and Thanks!

Hello Shivaniverma.

I do understand your situation.
After receiving my PFL, I immediately replied to them and explained that it was an honest mistake. After 6 months of no reply, I requested for GCMS notes and replied them back again explaining that it was not an intension of not disclosing my previous refused US visa . I also mentioned that in my previous Canada visitor visa (which I got approved) I have disclosed my US visa refusal hence it was just so happen that I honestly mistaken of not disclosing it in my current study permit application. At the same time, I sent a letter to withdraw my study permit application.

After 4 months, I received a letter and they have accepted my application withdrawal. Thanks God.

Hope this help. Don't lose hope.
