hello everyone i am a canadian citizen i was born and raised in canada but i am also a Lebanese citizen. i came to lebanon this summer to have my wedding but when me and my husband went to ektob elkteb we discovered errors on my lebanese passport and on the tuzkara. these errors are the place of birth and the date of birth which would create conflict with my canadian passport if we were to continue on with my Lebanese passport. we asked many government officials and they told us it would take years to fix the mistakes on my leb passport and that we can go on with our marriage license using my canadian passport as a form of ID which required getting a record check from canada proving that i am not currently married or have been. and we sent that paper to the lebanese government to get permission to use my canadian passport and we got the permission and went to the religious courts and katabna lkteb but when we went to go sabet eljawez in the nufoos they told us that there is no way we can do that because we are lebanese and i must use my lebanese ID not canadian but i dont understand how we got the permission to do so and after everything they say that its not possible? and im worried that redoing my papers with my tuzkara will effect the application for my husband to go to canada due to the conflicts on the 2 passports. do you have any insight on what can be done in our situation or anything that may help me for that matter because i am lost and i dont know what to do at this point. we asked a lawyer here and he told us to go to cyprys and have a civil marriage so my other question is how will that effect the process of my paperwork for canada will it make a difference make it harder...? easier?? help please
