I landed on May 30th. Border officer asked if I wanted PR card mailed to my SS# Site # Comp# address. I said yes. He filled out form correctly for me. But PR card is now lost in mail because somehow it was mailed to my residential street address instead , where I live but we do not get mail here. It is a rural area and mail only goes to community mailbox., down my street on the corner.
I called CIC and they said they would change address so if it came back they would send to me.
It never came back and when I called again they still show my physical residential address instead of community mailbox.
Now I have gone online and changed address but it required building number so I put Ss#, then on street I put ss# site# comp #. And of course next line was city and province.
Now ready to complete solemn declaration . Do I explain that we are in rural area and have no other way to get mail? I was told by CIC to change address to mailing address but I put it was also where I physically live.
Anyone have this problem before and do you think I will get my or card using this mailing address?
I am 8 hours from a CIC office so going in person is not an option.
Ty for any responses and advice.

you won't be able to do anything at a CIC office, so don't worry about that. the PR Card processing centre is in Nova Scotia.

i don't have experience with rural addresses, but i would recommend explaining the situation on the solemn declaration and make it very clear which address it needs to be mailed to. hopefully that will be enough for them to get it right. Community mailboxes are the norm in Canada, so i don't see why they would have such an issue delivering it correctly.

my pr card got sent back to CIC initially because of construction issues on the street i lived on, and i got it 2 weeks after submitting my solemn declaration. so if it's been returned and is sitting in a file somewhere, you should get it quickly. good luck!

edit: do you have some family who has more of a "Regular" address that won't confuse CIC as much? perhaps it would be better to submit that address to be sure it gets to you properly?

Ty. The only other address in town we could use with a street address is my husbands work but we are worried the receptionist may not recognize my name and throw the mail away. Ty.
They said my pr card was mailed in July and not retuned so I contacted post office and they can't track since mailed regular mail and no tracking.

personally, i wouldn't rely on the cic call centre's accuracy. send in the solemn declaration and hope you don't have to submit new photos. fingers crossed!
