Thank you.

Sorry, I thought a new thread my appear fresh and less depressive. I tried to copy and paste the old thread (this one) in my new entry but it bounced back saying "links are not allowed in this forum".
Of course I have been searching, consulting and seeking every advice with my community and others. The conclusion is that :the best and safest way forward is to leave Canada and apply outland. I am working on how can I reach my destination and then apply from there. Unfortunately Canada is far away and one has to cross USA or Europe before we can arrive home.
i agree with leon. i think you have a better chance staying put and applying inland.you say tha fake passport was got rid of? how bout u don mention it if it nowhere?? for lack of evidence of this fake passport i mean they need to physically see it to prosecute you eh??
you may have a better chance inland citizenship n immigration canada will nt kick you out of canada if u have overstayed , they say that on their website however you need to prove to them u arent a scammer if i were you i would produce as many documents ie photos etc to prove u love your wife
all hope is not lost i say dont leave without talking to someone jmho!

I am not convinced that it would be better for you to leave Canada right now. It might actually be a mistake. Sometimes it is better to stay and apply under H&C inspite of your illegal status. You really should talk to a lawyer before you do anything.
that's what I was thinking too. I fear if you leave, they are never going to let you back in!

hi,
i know this must be difficult for you.you can try to have a consultation with an immigration lawyer.you don't have to hire them, you pay a fee for some advice that may be able to help you with your case.i had a case a few months ago,i didn't have a lawyer,i just consulted with a couple of them, and i got advice that i was able to use and i won my case.i came to canada in 1990,as tourist, after my visa expired,i just didn't return to my country,i stayed for 5 years before applying on H/C ground,it took about 2 years, but i got my PR status.don't leave, you have a very strong case for H/C,try and see a lawyer,it might be the best thing you do. i wish you luck.

Thank you everyone
I have been through the forum; just to make my own search and learn from others' experience.
Originally I am from Iraq. I am not sure of how many Iraqis are in this forum. I found one member who can be in the same boat as I am, right now. Saskatoon thread is the nearest. But, there was no update for long time.
In the normal circumstances, we used to be one of the peaceful countries and one of the wealthiest. We then did not need to immigrate or to do what I did. My country has turned into a total “WRECK”. My country was invaded by some war criminals. We woke up on bombs, bodies scattered all over, land mines...and sky full of hell. There are millions of refugees all over the world from our Iraqis right now. Those who invaded my country have been selective. They destroyed the country and then selected whom they wanted to move to serve the invaders' land. Those selected were the one who got passports. Majority of Iraqis had to flee with their life on their hand.....without even having the chance to get passports....I am one. It was a journey from hell. Through mountains to Turkey. From Turkey into back of trucks into Europe. We could have died several times in one go. We worked there as slaves for pocket money. A journey from HELL.The money we got there was paid to gangs who created false passports. Ethically it is wrong..But ethically the invasion of Iraq, based n lies, is a crime against humanity too.
Sadly, my country will remain a total WRECK for the next century.
I could not have better choice. Certainly I am more educated than someone like G W Bush. I am not criminal. My wife is Iraqi too but Cnd citizen...she came at the invasion time and settled.
What else I can say. You can ask and I will try to answer
You touch my heart with your story and I can imagine how difficult it is for you. While you do not have money to hire a lawyer for legal advice, I truly believe that you have all the resources to win this battle and let me give you some illustrations here:
1. You are a very smart person.
2. You know how to risk you life to get what you want.
3. You know how to play your card to turn off a system that has been set up by the smarter people (not easy to use fake passport to enter this country).
4. You know well how to tell your story to touch anybody who decided to read it.
5. Canada is offering you free libraries where you can go and get any information on the laws of this land..
6. This land of freedom and opportunities is giving you the right to represent yourself in any court.
What are you waiting for if you cannot hire somebody to get legal advice? Instead of asking for solution here I recommend you to get it straight and ask yourself what you want from now on.
My question for you is where is the flame that burned in you when you made your decision to come here? Let me tell you that if you still have that flame in you, nobody can take you away from your family that you live so much. I am not a pro-fake passport; however, your case is special and delicate.
A lot of people in the same situation are waiting for you. Stand up for what you think it is true and do not check after you did the right thing to save your life.
Cheers,

Hello

I thank you (all) for your support and the uncountable help.
I just managed to arrive to Cairo yesterday, after exhausting journey. I was detained and interrogated for almost 24 hours. I am ok right now. They let me in, as we have a big refugee community from Iraq, who reside here in Egypt. The outland application will be my only option. I need time to gather my thoughts (first) and then my papers and documents. My wife can easily come and join me here. I just need to carefully think of the best way I can present myself and my story. If I say the "holy truth", then I am definitely in trouble (100%). If I do not say the truth I may/may not face trouble. I do not have a criminal mind or intention to deceive. Let me think....and please think with me.

Good day

Hi Lamont,

Ramadan Mubarak. Congrats man!!!

You made a good choice by leaving Canada, I think this is the best action possible. Now, you can start with a clean record, and clean history :)

By the way, how did you manage to go to Egypt if you don't have a visa? I think people from Iraq need a visa to travel to Egypt? How did the airline take you in?

Salaam.

Ramadan kareem

Thank you.
Somehow, I managed to go there. I started from Montreal, Casablanca, Cairo. WE have big refugee community there. Although I was detained and interrogated for a while, I was treated nicely, like a brother for them. Remember Iraq, in the past 30 years, used to welcome, accomodate, employ millions of of our Egyptians brothers and sisters.
Salam

How did you manage to fly out of Canada with an Iraqi passport without an entry stamp? Aren't entry stamps counter-stamped on exit?

People from Iraq are required to obtain an entry visa before they arrive in Egypt:

http://all-about-egypt.com/egypt-visa.html

Citizens of the following countries are currently required to have a pre-arrival visa:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chechnya, Croatia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Lebanon, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and all African countries.

Residents of the countries above may apply for a visa through their nearest Egyptian Consulate or Embassy.

I doubt an airline would allow you to travel without an entry visa for Egypt, presumably, you used "another" passport which didn't show your origins... again.

You have made it quite obvious from your comments that you didn't go through normal channels!

"Somehow, I managed to go there" "No, no stamp needed. But that is all I can say for now."

Whilst I have sympathy for the situation you find yourself in, doing things that may not be legal could jeopardise your application.

When you put in your application you are going to have to authenticate how you came to Canada, how you left, how you got married, where you have been and what you have been doing for the last 10 years. If you are less than honest it may just come back and bite you.

I would be extremely careful how you answer the questions!

edit...

Are you in the same situation as this couple?

It sounds very similar!

Thank you

I read the Saskatoon link at the beginning of my joining this forum. It sounds similar to a certain extent. But I guess the other couple may face more difficulties compared to us. My wife is Iraqi citizen and Cnd citizen too (dual). So we both have genuine relationship and similar culture background. We are flexible to the degree we can pull out of Canada (totally) and live somewhere else, if the situation forces us to do so.
All I can say (with no further explanation) is that I am legal in Egypt right now and have a legal status.
As I said earlier, I am gathering my thoughts (first) and them my papers and documents. We need a little time before we can fill the sponsorship application and then submit.

Good day everyone
